"Black Swan" is about the fear or losing your passion. It is deeper than you think, in many cases about their songs. They all have their own passion in performing arts and music - singing, rapping, and dancing as well as the rappers in producing, composing, and writing, because everybody will come to that point where they lost their determination in their ambitions but they are asking, "But what if the moment's right now?" ...when currently, the world has its eyes fixated on them, big expectations and such very high standards are put on them when it comes to releasing music, vocals and rapping, the MVs, their lyricism, and their choreography. Such a heavy responsibility to carry, especially when people only care about those things, not about their mental health and struggles.

The instrument you hear is a traditional Korean instrument called a Gayegeum. It kind of gives you a cultural vibe, right from the start. Also, I like watching you all react to BTS. you are very respectful to them, and their music. They really are a fantastic group, with so much diversity in their music, it blows your mind. I love your reactions! Black swan is based on a quote by a famous dancer, Martha Graham, who said something like, I'll die two deaths, the first will be when I can no longer dance and it will be by far the most painful. The song is about how, if they ever lost their passion for music it will be their first death. So not only did they write an amazing song, they paid great tribute to Martha Graham by doing their video in a beautiful theatre with modern dance. BTS lyrics are one of the best things about their songs. Always deep and with intent.

I am so happy that the guy in blue noticed the contemporary dancing. It is such a chef's kiss. It turned the song into a masterpiece, a great integration of arts when you experience them. It is very expressive and dramatic as what the song projects. Contemporary dancing needs so much emotions and creativity and flexibility, these all go together.
Jimin, a member whose one of his expertise is contemporary dancing, shined here when it comes to their choreography, he has that ability to do graceful and flexible moves, do flips and leaps in the air smoothly. He is also the member who is really hard on himself and feels unsatisfied with his performancess, saying many times that he did not do well.

This song came out right when I was ready to throw everything away. I was so stuck. I felt numb. I just wanted out! I would sit with this song, listen and had the feeling that BTS had such an understanding of what I was going through.

The string instrument used is the Gayageum, a Korean zither. Similar to the Chinese Guzheng but with different tonal qualities. Interestingly Black Swan Art Film feature western orchestral instrumentation, at least 4 string instruments including the violin, cello, acoustic guitar.
The interiors of the old theater shown in the video, its stage, stairs, rehearsal classes and foyer are an obvious reference to the 2010 film "Black Swan", where Natalie Portman shone in the title role. The heroes of this film also suffer and "burn out" in the dance.
To some extent, the answer to the question voiced in the text suggests a short but expressive frame in which the dancer (Kim Seok-jin) looks at his multiple reflection in the mirrors, and then abruptly leaves - the reflections in the mirrors remain. It must be understood that something will definitely remain after the artist, although perhaps it will be a multiplied, but not quite accurate reflection of his true self.

Every BTS songs or video have deep meaning or messages. They are not your typical western boy bands who sings about sex booze women drugs etc but their songs are about having depression or loving yourself racism or discrimination etc. They have deep messages and even themselves have experience. I suggest you watch the explanation videos of their mv's so you would really appreciate them. This guys are the biggest band in the world but still remains grounded and very humble. I suggest watch the explanation videos by Xceleste or Bookish Theories etc and you would be surprise how deep their songs are. Just keep an open mind and your journey would be really beyond your expectation. BTS is a Genre in itself. I just want to remind you guys that there is no turning back once you get into the rabbit hole. Good luck and e joy your ride.

How wide is BTS' music spectrum, right? they have hundreds of different hit songs, but it doesn't stop there: they have a story&message they offer us. When I listen to them, I feel completely immersed in art. I'm glad I got to know them, they are truly unique. There are no similar, but there are imitations

It is beautiful! Thanks for understanding their talent. And yes, they are famous for their amazing choreography. Jimin who did the contemporary dance.... not ballet...was a standout at his arts high school in contemporary dance. He could have chosen that career, but auditioned for Big Hit and was chosen as a trainee. Then luckily he was chosen to be in BTS. His contemporary dance is featured in his BTS solos and he also performs them on award shows. He is mesmerizing!

The song is about an artist loosing their passion for what they love. A lot of people say that song was dedicated to their future selves. When you loose your passion, you forget who you are and identity. You have fought and practiced that one thing your whole life and now it doesn’t make you excited anymore. ,
i'm glad i came across this channel reaction. i see that you pay attention to all aspects of the song. black swan the movie is really a masterpiece - mainly about the conflict of a human psyche. this song is a masterpiece too. since i see you do read and try to understand the messaging of their songs and mv, there are explanation videos for many of their songs because as english speakers, we miss out on a lot of wordplay as well as cultural references. bts takes lyricism seriously that's why at my age and being a mom at that, i find profoundness in these young men's music and wish for younger people to listen too. 💜
Black swan is about losing ones passion. So the shadow represents the fear of losing the passion. The shadow is circling around them, following them, and they’re scared it will engulf and take over them. To lose their passion for music would be “how they die their first deaths”. It’s based on a quote about how a dancer will die their first death when they can no longer dance! So it’s about never wanting to lose what makes their body vibrate as they don’t want to lose something that resonates with their hearts! At the end of the video the shadow goes back down representing that they suppressed/got rid of that shadow and that losing the passion isn’t going to happen (soon). It also represents them becoming inspired again!
