Love the slight of hand 😂 anybody else in the Society would have had to remake the part. Pity about the Clevis pins but the bars look the part for a steam loco 👍 coming along nicely.
Months ago I told you I did a magic trick in a video yet to come, now you've seen it!! 😂. I've already come up with an alternative version of the brakes which could use the clevis pins!! All the best, Matt 👍
Fantastic stuff chum, thank you as always for sharing this with us! 07:00 did make me laugh, good editing! Shame about the pull rods but you took that one on the chin, I would have shed angry tears
Thanks William, much appreciated. I must admit I use to get angry about making mistakes, now I just laugh it off, and use it as a learning curve, although I'm going to need 100% focus when I machine the cylinders 😬. All the best, Matt. 👍
Another great video matey. It amazes me how it seems we all have our own ways of designing and making parts. It will be great fun one day putting our engines together and doing a comparison. I have been trying to remember what I did for the brake rods as I was able to use round threaded rods with clevis's each end and it all fitted. Hmm remind me to look in the erecting shop (garage) sometime.
Cheers Buddy, Yes everyone has there own spin on how things are done, makes it more interesting and gives ideas for the brain on how to always develop your own builds. I've already come up with several alternatives to how I've done these brakes. All the best, Matt 👍
Thanks RB, If you hear a noise from Bridget, the question you should ask "is this pre head rebuild or not?" 😉 Dun Dun Derrrrrrrrrrr 😂. All the best, Matt 👍
I'm glad your shop-fu is well-developed, I would have had to re-make that part! (Sigh... I have a bunch of parts to remake right next to me...) Great vid as always
The force is strong with this one! 😂 to be honest I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the other one....its holes are in the wrong place 😂. All the best, Matt 👍
When you fit the link pins, the heads should always be on top, and the nuts underneath. That way even if the nuts fall off the pins will still work, though possibly less effective. With the head underneath the whole pin can come out and then it won't work at all. Also should use bolts with plain shanks through the parts, not set screws. When there's a thread being pressed into use as a pin, it very quickly wears awsy the thread and makes for an incredibly sloppy fit
Hi Edward, you are 100% correct, these are just temporary fixings, the only reason they are upside down was for ease of putting it together. Once I’m happy I’ll make all the pins at the same time. I was just going to make pins that drop in from the top, washer at bottom with a split pin. Hope you and the family are well, All the best, Matt 👍
If you were in the USA, I would wish you a Happy Father's Day. Thanks for sharing 👍
Hi Craig, Its fathers day here too, so happy fathers day! All the best, Matt 👍
Another enjoyable video Matt, clever magical trick with the bar🤪. Flat linkages the way to go.
Thanks Brian much appreciated. Probably my favourite piece of editing I've done so far! 😁. All the best, Matt 👍

Are you able to leap tall buildings in a single bound too, super job changing the hole orientation. Enjoyed the video 👍👍
Nice clevis Matt
Shame about the rods, these things come to try us👍👍

Hi Matt. There is a noise coming Bridgett maybe a little investigation needed. Yes the bars look better. Little by little it's coming along. 😀😀😀😀😀😀

Your vfd start ramp seems to be set to 10 seconds. Mine is one second and it runs great.
Never really bothered me, now you've mentioned it, I'll take a look, thanks. All the best, Matt ,👍
Are we early today?
I'm never early, I arrive precisely when I mean too!!
