    It's refreshing to hear someone who actually understands football be able to break down how great Josh Allen really is. It's a refreshing break from the morons in ESPN comments who only talk about his interceptions and ignore everything else that makes him so good

  • @STEALTTH7
    @STEALTTH7 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +64

    He's such an incredible player. This is why he's the league MVP. It's not just the stats below this comment, but these types of unbelievable plays that he does ALL THE TIME! The interception number isn't an issue when he's more than making up for those plays that would be punts anyway. He is insane.
    #1 Percentage of his teams total touchdowns (83%)
    #1 in total Touchdowns
    #1 in the Redzone
    #3 in Total Yards
    #2 in QBR
    #1 ESPN EPA
    #1 in fantasy scoring (again)
    He has done this in a year when they fired the Offensive coordinator.
    He has gone 11 games this year with passing and rushing touchdowns.
    Despite the Bills record, Allen has brought the Bills back in 4 times in that last 2 minutes of games that they Bills lost. The defense didn't hold up.

      Look, he's certainly number 2 in the race of MVP but you have to see Lamar as the clear MVP winner.
      27/14 TD-INT vs 24/7
      Lower completion percentage, lower yards per attempt, half of the rushing yards, lower run yards per attempt, less pressure per drop back, elite WR and a solid run game.
      Look Josh is totally a number 2 in the race which is truly amazing to be the number 2, but let's not get silly with it. Lamar is far and away the MVP.

      I’m not gonna lie to you Lamar shouldn’t win it Josh Allen has 800 more passing yards more has 15 more total tds and has just a better season all around but the mvp should really go to somebody like cmc or tyreek who have been the best players all year long

      Allen has 42 TD's, not 27@@ObominableSnow

    • @ObominableSnow
      @ObominableSnow 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @ObominableSnow
      @ObominableSnow 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sussybussy3052it's easy to have more passing yards when you're throwing the ball more. Hence the yards per attempt. Lamar is far more efficient across the board- including rushing. Again, we are kind of splitting hairs here, as QBs there is a defined top 2 for the year, I just value the efficiency of Lamar over Josh.
      Ah dude, I totally agree if it wasnt a QBMVP and it was based on positional value, CMC, Myles Garrett, Tyreek should all be considered. I hate the QB favouritism.

      I really wish we could see that in game, or a wide shot from the side showing the QB as well as receivers running routes. Nothing pisses me off more than cameramen "showing off their skill" with a tight shot tracking the ball. "Oh look...a tight shot of a spinning football...DUDE! I don't care what the ball looks like, I want to see the totality of the throw and the receiver and DB battle to catch/defend the throw."
      Tight shots should be reserved for replay. Real time closeups mean you aren't seeing most of the field or players.

    I think in a few years the media and average fan will realize Allen’s been the best QB in the league since 2020. He’s like early MJ Bulls / early Cavs Lebron esque in his ability to carry an offense. Mahomes walked into a perfect situation and it got him a lot of hardware but much like Brady/Manning I don’t think Mahomes is the better QB

    Every single fan whose not a Bills fan or all the people who call him a turnover machine bum should be required to watch this video. If they realized some of crazily insane/ but pinpoint accurate throws this man makes maybe some would be less critcal of him. Regardless his TDs far outweigh his turnovers so far in his career. I truly believe once Allen get in his 30s, and his body starts talking to him you'll start seeing him be less of the risky gunslinger he is now, and be a way smarter player than he is now. Jim Kelly was just shy of 31 when he went to a Super Bowl. This is why I think Allen has gone beyond what anyone expected at age 27. It's not as urgent and dire he gets to a Super Bowl with still a good chunk of his career still ahead of him.

    • @RageDaug
      @RageDaug 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Farve never stopped being a gunslinger. It's a mindset. I can see Allen running less, but I see Allen continuing to look to push the ball downfield whenever it's available.

  • @RageDaug
    @RageDaug 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    As someone who reviewed every throw Allen made, I'd be curious to know how many of them you would consider reckless. PFF graded Josh Allen the 2nd least reckless QB, only behind Burrow, when it comes to putting the ball into danger.
    From memory, watching every Bills game, most of Allen's interceptions were 1) tipped ball at the line 2) bobbled ball that hit the receiver in the hands 3) miscommunication, receiver ran wrong route or 4) 3rd down "Arm Punt" where he is giving his receiver a chance to make a huge play, but if intercepted, he flipped the field better than the punter could have.. Most "analysts" can't be bothered to look past the box score, so they see 18 interceptions and think "OMG BAD!" without bothering to see how many were Allen's fault.
    So anyway, that would make an interesting video. Analyzing Allen's interceptions to see how many were bad decisions or bad throws on Allen's part.

    • @tdtommy196

      That was because White and Milano were out. As soon as we signed Douglas, teams stopped scoring on us in the last 2 minutes. If we had White and Milano healthy for the whole season we would have 3 more wins at a minimum and would be the 1 seed instead of the 2. As it is, we should have had a win against the Eagles, but not even the league knows the difference between a catch and fumble and an incomplete pass, so they just make it up from game to game however they feel like it. The same play gets called differently depending on the situation, sometimes in the same game. Control of the ball, 2 feet down, drops it in the first quarter...fumble. Control of the ball 2 feet down, drops it in the final 2 min or overtime...incomplete pass. It's disgusting imho that they can't to this day give us a clear definition of what a catch is without using ambiguous language like "football move."

    Anyone who rants about Josh having the most turnovers is ignoring how how many of those turnovers are arm punts on 3rd down, or even 4th down. No doubt he throws some stupid interceptions, just like every other quarterback, but it’s humility that allows him to go for it when the ball is about to be turned over either way, even when he knows he’s going to be called a turnover machine every Monday. Granted, the Bills need to focus on just taking a field goal more as an organization, and a single extra field goal per game could have won a lot more games this season. But that’s organization-wide and hopefully something they’ll address sooner rather than later.

    Hey Billy, really challenging video. I traditionally love your videos and again love all the effort you put into them. You watching everyone of Josh Allens throws and bringing us your top 10 is amazing and I really hope you keep producing. I know youre a small channel but I genuinely get excited to see videos get released.
    I think this one may have gotten away from you. You normally come across really unbias and factual in your videos, particularly around stats and use next gen stats to back up your thinking. Your Myles Garrett video was amazing and certainly your most well produced video, I also loved your Detriot breakdown. Maybe using some next gen stats on catch probability would have backed up your thinking.
    This one for me, just comes across as a bit of a bias towards how "amazing Josh Allen has been" without any real cross comparison to seperating what he is doing vs. Lamar, Purdy or even a Goff. I would really disagree with him being the most "entertaining QB" that title to me, strictly belongs to Mahomes as much as I hate him.
    Again, please don't take this as negative feedback, I love your content and look forward to all of your videos.
    As it moves into the off-season I am hoping to see college breakdowns of the upcoming draft picks and would love if you put in where you think they should go in the draft.

      @@mattrollins7506 Mahomes tops the franchise's career passing charts in multiple categories, ranking first in passer rating (105.7), completion percentage (66.3%), 300-yard passing games (41), 100.0 passer rating games (47), yards-per-attempt average (8.10), 25-yard completions (207), passing yards in a single-season (5,250 in 2022) and rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (12). He also finds himself in the top five for attempts (2,993), completions (1,985), yards (24,241) and touchdowns (192).
      He currently holds the highest passer rating in NFL history amongst people with 1,500 passing attempts (105.7).
      -5,250 passing yards in 2022, Mahomes recorded his fifth-consecutive season (2018-22) with 4,000 or more passing yards. He joins PFHOF QB Peyton Manning as the only two players to have five such seasons in their first six years in the league
      -Mahomes has thrown for 4,500+ yards and 35+ touchdowns in four of his first six seasons in the league (2018, 2020, 2021, 2022). He is one of eight players in NFL history to have multiple seasons throwing for 4,500+ yards and 35+ touchdowns and one of just four quarterbacks in NFL history to have at least four such seasons, joining Tom Brady (5), Drew Brees (4) and PFHOF QB Peyton Manning (4).
      Starting his 75th game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13 of 2022 (12/4/22), Mahomes holds the record for most touchdown passes (181), passing yards (22,799) and wins (59) in any NFL quarterback's first 75 games.
      -Mahomes was already the fastest quarterback in NFL history to reach 15,000 career passing yards, but he officially became the fastest one to reach 20,000 career passing yards, doing so in 67 games. His 67 games outpaced QB Matthew Stafford's 71 games
      -After being named the NFL MVP for the 2018 season as voted on by the Associated Press, he became the youngest recipient of the award since PFHOF QB Dan Marino in 1984
      -Mahomes threw a touchdown pass in 31 straight regular season games between the 2019 and 2021 seasons, establishing a new franchise record and ranking as the ninth-longest streak in NFL history (regular season only). He also owns a streak of 14 consecutive regular season games spanning from 2018 to 2019 with at least two touchdown passes, the second-longest streak in NFL history behind only PFHOF QB Peyton Manning's streak of 15 such games
      I mean dude, in all honesty, I hate Patrick Mahomes. I find his arrogance so annoying and he's certainly not my favourite QB in the league. I go for Minnesota and my favourite QB right now is Jared Goff. What he is doing is frankly amazing. I really hope the lions win it all this year, it's a great storyline. We all have to admit, Patrick just something else, what he does, nobody else can. Again, it's totally up to ones opinion and Im not the content creator. I just think it's a bit of feedback Billy can take it on or not

    17 should have 2 rings by now I’ll never understand how McDermott is this guys coach I see the development of defensive players but the offense never fits him 2023 was his 1st season with a run game n o line , hopefully Brady can get this dude receivers that can separate consistently

      Sean doesn’t have so much to do with offense, Ken was the problem. And when Brady came through all his problems were gone. Joe let Allen do whatever he wanted, he let him run and pass with no worry of throwing an int. He has full trust in josh, unlike Dorsey.

    He does not throw picks at a higher rate than others. Actually, he in the top third of lowest turnover worthy play percentage.
    This is a nice video but be careful about following the narratives of the major outlets without looking at the data yourself

    Mr KC Nick Wright should watch this video, and then find 10 throws from Mahomes that would trump it. Only problem is Nick won't, but he'll still go on national tv daily saying vehemently "I still don't trust Josh Allen" like the pathetic bias fool he's always been.

      He is one of the most talented players in the history of the game at the position yet people choose to hate because their teams QB is all they see. If people would truly appreciate the game of football then they would appreciate Allen.

      Great arm and athletic ability too for a man that size. To be fair he normally doesn’t turn the ball over in crunchtime and he has given the Bills the lead often late in games but it’s their defense that usually crumbles at the end.
