Actually, the scarcities, the hyper-inflation, the 'corruption', etc that led to the June 4 was largely due to the world oil price shocks of 1974 & 1979. Ghana, like all non oil producing countries faced severe economic difficulties as prices of imports rose dramatically. Yet still, even the private in the army got pay increases like graduates of the universities. If the other ranks got jealous of senior officers who go far more, is another matter. Rawlings, himself proclaimed he knew no law or economics. The scarcities, the difficulties, etc. led Ghana astray. Well, if the Generals were killed, they were coup makers in 1966 & 1972.
This is sour grapes. What did you Boakye Gyan see about Rawlings to prop him up all those years? You must be an empty suit yourself and complexed to have put him above yourself, if as you said, he was not brilliant and failed most of his exams.
