Wind Turbine Woes - Hull

- This wind turbine got a little hotter than intended. It is Kaput, Broken, Useless. I'm really surprised that these things dont have an inbuilt fire supression system considering how much they cost. Fortunately no one was hurt, which is a blessing. Did not fly the Mavic, just stuck it on the roof of the car and zoomed in
i never thought i'd feel bad for a wind turbine
they have removed the nacelle and rotor now, i wonder if they are going to repair it or demolish the rest of it and replace it. or they might just remove everything (including the foundation and substation) and pretend it never existed.
0:53. the brake wheel is synced to the beat. well, at least it's still free spinning. would hate to see it if someone accidentally hits the manual pitch override control switch, since the generator is mechanically and electrically disconnected and the brakes are off. ( helicopter anyone? )

I can belive that the gears in the wind turbine still work
Yeah, they probably have a backup generator that's protected (hopefully it still makes energy)
@@MinhPhan-db9ms it's shut down! and anyways it's turning on idle speed and the generator is mechanically disconnected from the transmission. if it where started up (either accidentally or deliberately ) again in this state, with no mechanical and/or electrical load, you will have the Denmark wind turbine disaster all over again.

Turbines do have fire protection inside of them I could of been where it couldn't reach
All I know is that it went up in flames very quickly
