    Congrats to the Governors elect. I have always liked Sakaja coz of his sentiments regarding the plight of Kenyans. There is a time back you said that the way to eradicate joblessness is to reintroduce or rejuvenate the manufacturing industry in our country. I hope that you will focus on this in your capacity as governor i.e. if it is within your jurisdiction. I only abhor the party (UDA) you are in. Oh and so as to avoid issues just clear your exams and graduate so as to silence those who would point fingers against you.
    Mutula in you I see a future President of this country. I have always liked your zeal and line of thought.
    All the best to both of you.

  • @daviddavis7959
    @daviddavis7959 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The purpose of devolution was all about equitable distribution of resources to the counties whereby people living in those areas can get the services they need from their counties instead of depending on one entity the national govt. having said that the most important politcal seat should be who you elect for governor. So if i were President i would have a hands on approach on how the counties are performing by ensuring that county funds are used for the purpose they were intended for.
    This way, county folk will not blame the President for the bad economic times they are having if county govts are working efficiently. So its important that the devolution ministry and senate plays a hands on role in ensuring county govt are doing what they are supposed to do. County funds belong not to the county they are National funds which come from all tax payers. So its the National govts responisibility to ensure those funds are not corrupted or wasted.

      Read
      Konza City is a technology park to be constructed in Makueni County, on 5,000 acres. This Sh1.2 trillion project will be a first in the region, and a pool to incubate Kenya’s innovations. It will take 20 years to complete all the phases of this project.
      Konza City was commissioned in 2014, and as the construction of access roads begins, Kenyans are eager to see the outcome of this ambitious project, perhaps the most futuristic idea hatched by the government and stakeholders in the ICT industry. It will have a science park, a university, residential and commercial houses, hospitals and schools.
      Creation of employment, especially in the IT sector, is one of the long-term benefits of this project. The government hopes to create about 200,000 jobs in this industry. This land, which was previously a ranch, will turn the A109 Road (Nairobi-Mombasa Highway) into one of the busiest in the region.
      Local and foreign investors expected to benefit from this project include firms in business process outsourcing, software development, data and call centres as well as manufacturing companies.
      The Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KODTA) has 20 years to complete the four phases of Konza City. This tech city hopes to address the need for a platform where young, innovative Kenyans can mingle with other creative minds, as well as with local and foreign investors to produce and manage startups. A railway line will pass through the city, in order to ease transportation and prevent traffic congestion as is common in Nairobi.
      So far, KODTA has undertaken a few projects to implement the first phase of the project. This includes cadastral survey of the area and drilling boreholes.
      But it also finds itself in buffers of three counties makueni Machakos and kajiado
      But geographically its located in makueni County
