in 1956, my father had a turntable pickup, and a 76 RPM vinyl disk of Maruzzella (and Guaglione on the other side)-- both were music only, and although I was a 3-year-old Syrian child, i loved these two pieces so much.
But today, when i heared and watched this band performing Maruzzella that way, the big surprise was that I loved this version much more than i loved the 1956 one of my early childhood!!
This contrebass sound, along with this gentle, italian lady's warm voice and honest performance, filled me with warm emotions and sympathy with this pretty young lady.
Thank you guys for this superb, clean revival of this old, traditional song

Ho scoperto oggi questa canzone, ho 54 anni, nordico e per casualità sfortunate della vita non l’avevo mai ascoltata se non spezzoni casualmente, ma senza prestarle orecchio, cosa mi stavo perdendo...è strepitosa...avvolgente...magica, non mi stancherò mai di ascoltarla ora...mi mette pace nell’animo. Grazie Maestro Carosone, Lei era un genio.
