As someone who used Twitter. This is so accurate. They don't even give a fck about equality or morality there more so you get special treatment based on who you are. You can rightfully call someone out for being homophobic, transphobic or hating on disabled people and god forbid that person happens to be black or just of color and they'll ignore it and proceed to tell you 1682736 reasons why you're racist

in all seriousness, I'm kinda surprised on how long has Newgrounds lasted w/o turning into a complete shithole... On the opposite actually, it is still prolly the best place there is for getting feedback for amateur game-devs... and doing some other type of research too. all of the rest has followed pretty much the same trajectory of starting out as a innovative platform w unique features, getting bought out by some huge company and then turning into absolute homogeneous garbage soon after.
Because its still Tom Fulp that manages the site, he has the main vote, no one else. Guy is in his 40 now and still doesnt let anyone take the reins because he knows it will end badly. Guy also doesnt put damaging ads on A games etc. You can safely click on them and no virus, even though they pay less. If you want proof of what letting control instead of the creator look at reddit.

Sadly I didn't get to create flash games on newgrounds back in the day (as my game-dev hobby/career path started thru other means, such as creating mods and community content, like scenarios for AoE II). But its games surely played a big part in terms of inspiration for said choice, as flash-games were likely what kept me in my PC for the longest time in my days of school... Besides I had no consoles whatsoever, so I really got to play a sh*t-ton of them lol Also worth noting that every single time I decide to upload any sort of build in there, be it a jam, personal, or professional project, and as pre-alpha as it maybe, the community still manages provide the most amount of quality feedback and engagement out of any of these "indie-supporting" platforms. So it really speaks to me louder than any sort of advertisement campaign there is.

The world without Twitter one is true. I had a Twitter account for 2 months until it got permanently suspended recently, and ever since the suspension I have never felt better.
I miss MSN Messenger. The built in doodle pad to send drawings. The big ass gifs that took up the whole screen while playing sound/music. The ability to spam nudges which played a sound and shook the whole screen. Great times.
