These are two beautiful heroines of 50 & 60's decade Padmini and Vajayntimala.

This hs got 2 b one of the most amazing dance performances ever...I could nvr tire of it.....the precision in their dance movements and poses and how bewitching both of them look...it's unsurpassed...
Both were great Dancers! Even for a movie... It would have been unfair if it was shown one of the actress as a loser in movie! So the director did a great job.

Two of them are legendary actresses - Padmini (one sister from the very famous trio - Travancore sisters which includes Lalita, Padmini and Ragini) and Vyjayantimala Bali. Padmini's neice Shobhana is another brilliant actress and a legendary dancer the country has ever seen.

My all time favourite dance, very happy that even after 60 years padmini amma and vyjayanthi amma are remembered by an anglo indian youtube channel, padmini-natiya paeroli, vyjayanthimala-nattiya mala nowadays heroines can't even do 10% of what savitri amma did in acting and padmini vyjayanthmala did in dancing then.

This is the original movie in Tamil language in the name Vanjikottai Vaaliban. It’s remade in Hindi language in the name Raj Tilak starring same cast in the main roles. This song is also in Hindi “Hone laga hai” with same dance steps.

That is one of the best dance sequences in Tamil Films. That it was filmed in 1956 is amazing!! Both artistes Padmini and Vyjayanthimala are excellent dancers that became actresses. This is the best of our rich performing arts traditions unbroken tradition from 5000 years ago ...now captured on a new medium film!! Love seeing the expression of Amanda made it amazing once again for all who have seen it many times before. Please get a translation of the lyrics they are pretty amazing too!!

That first dancer was actually a one if the 3 sisters dancing in a king's court. Thuruvangidhur samasthanam ( raginini padmini and I forgot her elder sister). These three ruled the Particular dance communities. Padmini actually became partially handicapped due to her extensive dancing. Mind that!

Yugander Na they are not dancers at Travancore courts! Infact they are daughters of a wealthy Trivandrum industrialist who owned huge wood industries in Malaysia! Their palatial bangalow at Trivandrum was called Malaya cottage!

This is a cinematised version of the ancient dance art of Bharathanaatyam. It is the most iconic dance off in Indian cinema, overall. This is a song written and sung in classical Tamil language. If you read about the two dancers, you'll find out that they were 2 of the most celebrated actresses in Indian cinema, also trained in classical dance. I wish somebody puts English subtitles to this song. It's very poetic.
