Coming from a small family circus that played the west coast fair circuit in the 60s - 90s with just mom, dad and my brother and I as kids with an extra feature act doing two things at the major fairs I feel the love within his heart. We played 1 or 2 week spots and was a free show and were paid a flat rate and we had straw houses all of the time. I don't think that anyone outside of the business could ever comprehend the effort and logistical problems that it takes to move even a small show like this. It's a 24/7 job that is almost at a wartime pace that nobody can understand, it's done more for the love and pride of the circus than making money. As I said we were proud of our little Happytime Circus under a 60X90 and we had many fairs that we played for more than 20 years. But people like Alain are the most dedicated circus people in the world, nobody has a clue about what it takes to set up the whole thing and preform two shows and then tear it all apart drive half the night to the next spot and hope that people will come and enjoy circus to at least break even and hopefully make a profit. Our little circus was never meant to move every single day and it takes a super human amount of effort from the people that bring the circus to your town and supports the local community. I respect and admire small shows like this who are keeping the true traditional circus alive. Sadly, today's generation has been so brainwashed by the left and thought that circuses are bad and they beat all of their animals. Now they they think that watching a stage show at a 100 bucks a pop is a circus. As an overpriced and overly P/C Canadian subsidized show that started as street performers I'll give them credit for the way that have been able to so many shows in Vegas and around world. They are probably great shows for the millianials but it's still just a fufu stage show doing a few circus skills doing some kind of assinne kind of a story or a play or even a star like elvis. Anywho, if it's not under a tent it's not a circus...
