He would just cancel the attack, optimize the citys construction plans, make some mortuary cult items to put on khalida and heros, hire some regiments of renown, see if theres any diplo options to make the battle easier, cancel some wars and maybe even trade a settlement to peace out with kroq, see if there are any armies nearby that could help reinforce khalida, and then finally micro manage the battle and beat it while suffering 10 casualties.
@@czarkiddy9543 I always find Legend's cheesing exciting in some way. And when in such a difficult battle, basically any move becomes exciting. I mean, the situation seems so desperate to begin with!
@Indolthir i also find cheesing very exciting. I also want to acknowledge that cheesing may not always be as exciting as other options, such as the case here with controlling large armies. But that's also my opinion.
This reminds me of that time I had to take our what felt like five hundred empire units with Dyrcha and five units, just trying to isolate units on that map that's mostly forest and a statue.
I feel like having the archers, scorpions and necrotech in the other corner separate from the infantry and catapult to further split the enemy army, this would allow you to reduce the profile of the spears and allow them to survive longer and blob the enemies more for aoe dmg and would also allow the chariots to intercept stragglers going for the archers and maybe even get some lords going their way for kalida to snipe. The archers have little to no use in this battle vs high armored units but have enought balance of power to bait some units towards them

I really wish I could break this habit in my own campaigns of the moment something even goes slightly not according to plan or wrong. I completely abandon the campaign. It's a really bad habit to break.
There's a pretty easy way to break that habit and that is to catch yourself. After you've given up and started a new campaign, after about turn 4-5 whenever you realize it again, go back and at least try to salvage the old one. if it doesnt work out, fine, at least you've tried and you go back to the new one. If it does work out, good and now maybe you'll be more likely to push through next time. When you have a new campaign started its like you're playing with house money since you know you have "somewhere to go." Even if it makes little sense its how humans work. Use that as leverage to stick it out.
I’ve had this happen to me, but something that has helped me recently is actually making a challenge run. My current run is an Arball the Undefeated run, but no defeats in the statistics screen. The challenge kept me invested and even when I was faced with my own disaster battle, I didn’t give up and refought the battle until I won and the campaign could continue. Even after the challenge was complete on long victory condition, I said “alright, now let’s keep it up and go for all Khorne achievements.” Did that, now onto world conquest. Challenges keep it interesting and fun, and will make you want to keep playing and see a campaign through!
Well done on getting a win. I'd have happily taken the L with half that opposition. That's an inspirational level of effort. But even Legend looked just a little bit older after he did that three hour eagle swoop battle. You're very good at this and I'd love for you to still be around for 40k as well, so please take care. Don't burn yourself out with impossible challenges that defy the fortitude and sanity of mortals. If someone suggests you should try this again but with no magic then please just mute them. Cheers. 🙂

That was my thought too. I'm wondering if Legend could pull this off, and if he did, if he could pull it off any cleaner than Enticity did here. This is one of the most impossible battles I've ever seen looking at the armies head to head.

Legend used to do tons of cycle charging, he would probably reject it for being tedious and not strategic though
