No chemistry between the actors for Riley and Lucas, and Maya and Lucas had way better chemistry so yeah, I completely agree. Also the age difference between the Riley and Lucas actors might have made it uncomfortable for them to play a romantic couple, while Maya and Lucas had less of a gap and were more comfortable with it at the time of the filming. Still would've preferred a Maya/Lucas getting together, they made more sense.
How the HECKIN HECK can you compare the chemistry between Maya and Josh to the chemistry between Maya and Lucas. Maya & Josh barely spent any time together, she had a crush on him because he was a little bit older, but they had zero chemistry. Maya and Lucas have had the growth from more seasons, they were constantly together and they were constantly back and forth with each other. They had more chemistry together in one scene than Maya and Josh did in the entire show. PERIOD!

True story here. I've never watched a single Boy Meets World or Girl Meets World episode. So I don't know why this came up in my recommended feed or why I decided to watch it. But I'm glad I did. Never have I ever fallen in love with a ship so fast and hard as with this one. I immediately checked out all the lore and I was beyond disappointed how they handled this shipping. ' What I like most about this pairing, is that it's a nice twist on the classic ''tough girl teases boy she likes to hide her feelings''. Because of how Lucas always manages to counter every insult and joke Maya trows back at her like a true gentleman.

For those of you saying the show was ruined because the writers didn't give us "Lucaya", Give the writers some credit. They were only giving what a lot of the younger audiences wanted. The older audiences with a little more maturity and experience in relationships saw that Riley and Lucas were bland and kinda unrealistic while Lucas and Mayas relationship contained loads of chemistry and realistic situations that may happen in relationships, but younger audiences don't see it that way. They don't really understand that whole concept of a relationship. They saw it as arguing and imperfection instead of what the relationship really could have been. They really just go with the relationship that's easiest and looks the best. So although Maya and Lucas's relationship had more chemistry and in another world would have been a better fit, there weren't as many older audiences viewing the show to have a say as there were younger. The younger audiences really had the final say in which ship they continued on within the show since it was viewed more by them than any other audience, not the writers. As someone who viewed the show as an older audience but watched with younger audiences, I totally was on the Maya and Lucas ship completely, but all the younger ones around me wanted Riley and Lucas together so I get why the writers made that choice.
They literally brought smackle onto to show to take attention away from Farkle and Riley (that people will start seeing that both are actually a really cute couple). When I was younger watching this I literally thought that Farkle and Riley would end up together I didn’t know why, they just looked like the perfect couple in my perspective. The writers did a horrible job with the season finale. This series is literally about Maya’s life but in Riley’s POV. Why Maya couldn’t have had a happy ending? Riley got everything and the last thing Maya actually had in her life that made her happy, Riley took that away too. Maya is a really good friend😌❤️ P.S: for people saying that Maya likes Josh and it would’ve ruined the whole concept of it. Lemme just remind you that Maya just has a ‘crush’ on Josh. It’s nothing serious, on Lucas it’s different because she actually shows emotions (anger, sadness etc) to him while wit Josh she just shows googly eyes and whatever. Josh was just a crush and in the future she’ll grow over him.
