unpopular opinion but malibu rising is actually my fave of the three books! loved the huge cast of characters, beachy vibes and just how addictive TJR's storytelling is
I literally just finished my reread of Evelyn Hugo earlier this evening and I was a sobbing mess, again 😭 I also read the book for the first time in 2019 and wow it proved again why it's my favourite book. This book conveys emotions in me that no other book does 🥺 can't wait to read Malibu Rising !!!!!!!

TJR is my fav author. although I like Evelyn hugo and Daisy Jones more than malibu rising because, it's not that heartbreaking, sure the character work is gorgeous but yeah

Also....it's Taylor Jenkins Reid!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh I love the ocean too so I am loving the vibes this book has too. Omggggg you're making me even more excited to read it and I am ready to SOB!
Omg, that "all of a sudden I became a New Yorker" cracked me up so much, hahaha! I already wanted to read the Evelyn Hugo, but damn, after this video, I might need to put all the other books on my list to make space for this baby. You did a great job selling it to me, haha!
I thought the same thing as you about Malibu Rising, i wasn't a big fan of the parts of other people perspectives. I missed more parts about the siblings. But it's a great book, the first part is marvelous.
Tbh i love the first part of malibu rising... the second part for me is a bit too ridiculous... too many characters that are not really needed to the storyline. I feel like they forgot to edit the 2nd part. And yes Mick Riva is an awful character till the very end. I feel like the ending was rushed and by later at the party i was skipping pages bcoz of filler characters. Hopefully her other books are better than this one.

it was such a good book. i love how although it was primarily focused on nina we saw bits and pieces of everyone else. it’s such a good book
this is my third time seeing a video this week mention Evelyn Hugo and I’m taking this as my sign to finally pick it up!!

Malibu Rising follows the off-spring of one of Evelyn’s ex-husbands, so I’d say read Evelyn first! But it’s not a huge deal if you don’t 😇
