A lot of vibrations.. expectedly on helicopters. I crewed Bell UH-1H ARMY Helicopters for 10 years in the 70's & 80's . This carbon pile voltage reg. was used. I believe we had to check them every 25 HRs. Ho the twist in the safety wire is 6 to 10 twist/per inch.

thanks for the explanation. am currently studying this in my aircraft electrical systems class and my teacher didn't explain how the carbon pile worked in detail

I do not have the full documents sorry. What I showed was just what I found using a search engine, didn't find full documents just images of a page or two.
