I have a bunch of silly things like this, I take them for walks and give myself a task or limits. se a select lens or only take pictures of a certain color. This has made me a better shooter by far. When I get bogged down with my craft and what everyone else wants I turn to stuff like this. Great video and I hope people learn from it.
This is why I periodically grab my old Pentax. Load up film, grab a prime lens and go wander. Having fixed film speed and focal length, combined with that knowledge that each shot you take is one of a finite number available, makes me think a lot more about what I’m shooting. That and getting home to process the film, the smell of darkroom chemicals, the rhythmic nature of agitating the tank, it’s meditative for me :)
1:49 haven’t heard of the Fuji quick snap in years, I have a ton of old ones that never got developed sitting in a box somewhere. Also this video was really relaxing to watch ❤️ blunty your camera videos are always the best
Didn't even know you were into photography. I subscribed for the cumputer stuff, and I'm a little happier man now, being a hobby photographer myself too.
I'm here to please the TH-cam Gods. Great content as always! I don't personally understand or care about photography but Bluntly could make anything sound incredibly interesting. 💜💙🧡
i remember using those disposable cameras on school trips, they always gave terrible photos. i'd like to see you do a bit of a challenge in your spare time, purchase one of those disposable cameras and try to actually get some decent photos from just one roll of film. could make for a bit of a challenge and also cheap video as well.
looks like a fun little lens, sadly I'll have to wait until they get stock for the Z mount, it is on their site but I guess it hasn't filtered down to retailers yet.
I actually bought 2 fuji disposable cameras the other day, I don't know why because I have 2 Olympus 35mm cameras, a hybrid Pentax camera (digital controls, shoots film) and a Canon t7, but I couldn't help buying it for some reason 🤷♂️
Wow! Impressive. I've recently started shooting 120mm film with Russian Lubitel 166B. Surprisingly, enjoying the old school photography....great vid as always Blunty!!!
Did you do much adjustment or colour grading on the video @5:00? The video has such a strange 1980s feel. Also, the girl snapped in front of the Sydney Opera house. It’s like a time machine in a lens.
@@BluntyTV do you still have the tiny tripod that folds away like a blind man’s walking stick? I saw it on an old video? I can’t find the video. I’m trying to find one of those tripods.
That was awesome thank you. I've gone and taped of a third of my lens and go into the city and make myself shoot every picture with a third of the lense blacked out. The other thing I did was tape a large projection TV lense over my lense and take pictures wich distorts the image in crazy ways we need to remember to try things for shits and giggles as they say. No gain just a harmless laugh a good time and if your lucky you get to learn and create.
Algorithm appeasing comment material offered up for the benevolent TH-cam overlords. But seriously, thanks for the review and honest discussion of “lens lock.” It’s something I wish was more unfamiliar, but appreciate hearing how you deal with it.
Good vinyl actually sounds pretty good. I really wish people had taken up SACD instead, because it is far and away superior to both Vinyl and CD in every way that matters. But the pageantry of putting on a vinyl record is a warm and fuzzy feeling you don't get with digital, and is diminished for CD's simply due to the ease and size of putting on a CD. Vinyl is fun, anyone who likes it for that I have no problem with, people claiming it is superior to CD's give me serious rage. I'm pretty sure you have not used the same type of 3D printing before, that is CLEARLY no typical desktop FDM, probably powder based with a laser to fuse or "sinter" it together. Those prints can be VERY strong, and incredibly versatile, some can even work a little differently with an almost ink like binder added that can produce parts with varying levels of flexibility, even varied levels within the same part. The metal adaptor is still a good idea to improve longevity and compatibility.
Yes, the 3D printing here is very likely powder bed fusion, but the issue I was talking about is not the strength of layer bonding, nor even detail fidelity... it's simply; plastic is still plastic! and ALL cameras this will be used on have METAL lens mounts. It's simple material physics here, of the plastic was the direct mount point it WILL wear down, and make the flange fit complete crap, rather quickly (and worst case, leave behind particulates worn off it, potentially jamming or wearing the moving parts of the camera's shutter, or settling on the image sensor). This is why I praised their simple solution to the issue.
@@BluntyTV oh it is still certainly a better solution, but not all plastics are created equal. You’re not quite giving this plastic enough credit. Additionally, something like delrin or acetal would be fantastic to use the lens mount directly, even though they are plastic.
I love both vinyl and cassette, especially chrome cassettes (I have yet to try metal) there's just a certain "realness" to analog sound you don't get with digital, even if it is a little more muddled and has a little less range.
the worst fad that should stay dead - modern skate videos going back to 4 by 3, 480p, 30fps, stretched and grainy messes. editors/filmers, the gameboy was great but we've moved on...

I genuinely enjoyed this video. “Limits inspire” definitely brings a set of perspective that is quite intriguing.

I don't even own a camera outside of my phone cameras, still I find this Camera videos nice
The way you describe the feel of using this lens are magnificent.
"snapper's slump" "photo blind"
Photography stuff and Philosoblunty in one video? Nice.
oh man, your intro caught me by surprise. I watched you for your vr videos a year or two back. you have a breath of hobbies, eh?
Wow. That picture quality, it bring back memories. I still have some undeveloped disposable cameras. Lol
I've been waiting for a review of one of these. They also have versions that use a pair of the lenses.
Excellent video Blunty, no writers block for you it seems!

Great review. I love my GH4. Gonna have to get this for some video shoots. THANK YOU!

the term i like for writers block for photographers is ive been lens capped :P
nice to see a photography related video it's been awhile 👍
It's been 5 days. The one before that was 6 days prior.
You are a true artist, and a great one as well
Man, I wish there was a version of this for mirrored cameras. I would LOVE to take images with this lens, it looks so fun!
Wow! Impressive. I've recently started shooting 120mm film with Russian Lubitel 166B. Surprisingly, enjoying the old school photography....great vid as always Blunty!!!
Sounds interesting.. but where do you get 120mm film and where do you process it?
I'd like to suggest Shutter Jam, or shutter jammed.
not bad. Does make me thing of a physical technical malfunction though heh.
This is what came to my mind, too!

The video has such a strange 1980s feel.
Also, the girl snapped in front of the Sydney Opera house. It’s like a time machine in a lens.
Everything is direct from camera. I did however have the camera set to a "retro friendly" built in picture style.

Ahhhhhh, classic Blunty.
Wow, this video was so inspiring...
I suddenly feel like going out to shoot
nailed it on the Camera stall or losing your muse
i use mine with my canon xsi only 10megapixels and weird colors but i love the look
wow, reminds me of the stuff you'd see in the pink floyd films. But much higher def. Cool tech! Thanks Blunty!

Yes! why pursuing the perfect shot while you can obtain a thousand fun shots.
honestly the lens just gives black mist with a white soft filter mixed. like a 1/2 black mist and a 1/4 white soft.
Here's a term for what you were describing:
"Shutter-bummed".
otherwise known as Art Block or Artist Block.
Wow. What a throw back.

Oh wow. Hi Blunty.
"Writer's block" ~> "f stop" 😂
lol. nice
I mean, even if you don't have a sticker printer you could use a normal printer, cut it out, and use a glue stick or white glue
“They exist in my drawers” - you keep lenses in your undercrackers? You really *do* love photography, dontcha? 😉😁
This was nice.
Film Flop. Algorithm appeased and my own stupidity "broadcasted".
Art block, photo block... I dunno maybe Artistic Stall

"Shutter Stall" ?
I wont rise to the record comment, I wont rise to the record comment, I WONT RISE TO THE RECORD COMMENT!!!
Your lint covered stylus seems to be skipping. as it hisses out your crackly painfully audible protests
Camera clog, I tried but I’m tired so my brain is operating at chicken Nugget
I would greatly enjoy a video about the weird lenses you use to get inspiration.
several of my earlier ones are already linked in the description.
