Great video. Just bought the Mach 2 Forza 16mm. I have zero problem generating my own power. So I thought this paddle seemed like a good investment between that has some pop to use opponent speed. I have the Diadem Edge 18k, while it’s a good paddle I felt as if it absorbed energy way too well to where I had to generate my own on every single shot which isn’t always good. Super excited for the Mach 2
Hey I see you mentioned that thinner models tend to have more spin. Can you elaborate on that? People would say the thicker the paddle the more “dwell time” it develops causing more spin but I’d love to hear your reasoning
I didn't get to play with the finished square paddle. I had an early prototype and the 11mm had a lot more pop than this does but this one feels more head light. Take that with a grain of salt because the square proton paddle wasn't a finished product. I had the elongated proton paddles that were the finished product.
How would you rank the pop and power difference between the standard body paddles you’ve listed? Like the difference between this one, scorpeus 14/16, kiwi and gruvn 13s?
Pop from most to least: GRUVN 13s Scorpius 14 Volair mach 2 Forza 14 Scorpius 16 Kiwi lab Volair mach 2 Forza 16 Power from most to least: Volair mach 2 Forza 16 Kiwi Scorpius 16 Volair mach 2 Forza 14 Scorpius 14 Gruvn 13s
Do you know of any other paddle with this similar shape, wide body aero with ~5.5-6 inch handle? I'm looking to try either the Volair Mach 2 Forza or PIKKL Vantage Pro XL (whenever they announce it). Great Vid as always!
Most underrated paddle out there. Can't believe this is still the only review of it. Great work! Are you playing more with the 16mm or 14mm? I keep going back and forth. 14mm is perfect for a more aggressive game but 16mm is rock solid for a control game,
handle on the mach 2 forza is 5.5 inches which is a rare trait for standard/wide face shape paddles. The bison rampage is sub 5 inch handle, not comparable.
My main driver is a Prism Flash 16mm. I really like it and I've tried many other high-end paddles. However, I recently borrowed a buddy's Mach 2 Forza 16 and I loved it. A bit more power but still very controllable. Noticeably more spin. More maneuverable for fast handsbattles and a much larger sweetspot for offcenter hits during those firefights. It will be my next paddle.
Mach 2 is non-thermoformed, aka softer and probably a tad less swing weight Both are going to get exceptional spin and control with that wide-body shape. I'd go with the Forza.
Tbh I didn't feel like neither of them really needed it. The power isn't so bad that it's crippling. I didn't want to increase the swing weight any and affect the hand speed. The hand speed and sweet spot combo with this is a lot of fun. I should have tried lead just in case anyone asked. I'm sorry dude!
The Mach 2 16mm tied for 3rd among 190 paddles in the ranking model I performed. Findings show spin among the 14mm and 16mm were virtually the same. Farmer stated twist weight of 7.3 which was the highest rating I've seen for this model. 1900 RPM. Core source for my findings comes from databases of John Kew and Pickleball Studios. With industry average price of 180, this wants to be competitive - but I think there are many paddles for less with similar specs (Bison Rampage). If you go with this, I'd suggest the 14mm in hopes it has more pop/power.
Na disagree. It has a really high twist weight and really good spin with great control which already sets it apart given the shape and handle size. It’s only real competitor is the Colin Johns 16mm Scorpius which is the only other standard/widebody long handled thermoformed control paddle. Compared to the scorpius it gets better spin, has a better sweet spot, and doesn’t suffer from any of the joola quality control issues. It’s probably the best control paddle on the market right now and that is going to come at a cost but it still beats out the joola scorpius by almost 100 dollars when you use a discount code. If you’re money conscious just use the vatic prism 16mm. It’s a little softer but it’s still one of the best control paddles and it’s only 90.
I disagree that the 16mm Mach 2 Forza is lacking in power. I usually have to add weight to my 8 oz paddles to get deep serves, but I didn't need to do that with this paddle.
@@PKB-AG currently I’ve got 8 paddles plus the Franklin sweet spot trainer paddle. The 8 paddles are: SixZero Ruby, Diadem Edge 18k Pro Power, Gruvn Muvn 13S, Pickleball Apes Pro Line Energy, Vatic Pro Flash 16mm, Vatic Pro Prism Flash 16mm, Legacy Pro 14mm, Ethos Arete.
After playing with both I prefer this paddle by a lot. I wasn't that surprised or excited about the Ruby. It reminded me so much of the proline energy S by pickleball apes
Haha. Ive played outdoors with over 75% of the paddles I just have a constant playing spot available inside so I chose to only show it so it'd be consistent. Most paddles convert the same from indoors and outdoors. A DBD is more powerful outdoors and it's the same for indoors. I do love outdoor pickleball lol
I have 16mm Mach 1 Forza, I get tremendous amout spin compared to Selkirk Invicta and Joola Perseus.

What are your thoughts so far?
Would you still recommend this over their new CTRL2 ?
Thanks
Do you personally prefer the 16mm or 14mm?
Hey Lyn I'm looking to get the forza mach 2. Where should I purchase with your code?
Hey I see you mentioned that thinner models tend to have more spin. Can you elaborate on that? People would say the thicker the paddle the more “dwell time” it develops causing more spin but I’d love to hear your reasoning
Correct, thicker is better
So which is your favorite now for the Mach 2 Forza? the 14mm or 16mm?
The 16mm for sure
I have the14mm Mach 1 Forza. Excellent spin. Also, the swing weight is the same 111 that you state the 16mm Mach 2 Forza is. Tempted to give it a try
How would you compare the pop on the 16mm to the DBD 16mm?
It definitely doesn't have the pop that the DBD has
How about the DBD 16mm vs the 14mm in pop?
How does it compare to the Proton square paddle
I didn't get to play with the finished square paddle. I had an early prototype and the 11mm had a lot more pop than this does but this one feels more head light. Take that with a grain of salt because the square proton paddle wasn't a finished product. I had the elongated proton paddles that were the finished product.
How would you compare the 14mm in terms of power, pop and control to the Vatic Prism Flash 16mm, assuming you've played that one. Thank you.
Great review. I’m really enjoying the gruvn Muvn 13s but would love to try this paddle to feel the difference
How would you rank the pop and power difference between the standard body paddles you’ve listed? Like the difference between this one, scorpeus 14/16, kiwi and gruvn 13s?

@@FarmerLankyPickleball thank you!!
If you have to BUY gruvn 13s and Mach 2 forza. Which one will it be

Which thickness did you prefer for soft game shots like drops and resets?
16

Does the Mach 2 Forza 16 have more or less power and pop than the 16mm prism flash?
Should have more power and pop because it's thermoformed.
I'd get the Prism Flash and with the money you saved - upgrade the forearms and drive muscles (lol)

Great channel and content, thank-you.

I bought too many paddles recently! But god do I want this 😱😭
😂 it's a good/bad time to be a pickleball player. A lot of fun toys are coming out but you gotta choose wisely 😂
too many paddles ? please do tell - let us know what's in your bag.
