As a Hong Konger, your video recalls all of my memories of Kai Tak. Airplanes used to fly over my house. The distance between airplanes and buildings were so closed, liked can be reached by hands. Kai Tak was definitely one of the most challenging airports in the world.
This seems like a parallel universe recreation of Kai Tak. Most of the present-day buildings are there, which should block the landing path (the entire Kowloon peninsula had a strict building height limit in Kai Tak's days), but I guess only the buildings directly in the flight path were removed for this map.
In 1984, I was an aircraft electrician on the Lockheed P3 Orion sub chaser. We flew the Checkerboard Approach. Intense! Here I am at 62, watching this in flight Sim! Thank you!
In Indonesia we also have a somewhat version of Kai Tak airport, and it's called Kemayoran Airport and sadly it was closed in 1985, now the location has turned into a fun fair in Jakarta
I'm really more of a VFR guy on MSFS, Max737 probably had to reshoot the approach and landing like 5 times. Also landing was 10/10, a landing that smooth on an approach like that? Awesome vid.
Hi @max737ifly, I was wondering, how do you film the same ai traffic inside and outside the cockpit? Is there a way to record the traffic? And also, could you please share your reshade? Goodness your sim looks incredible! Can’t get enough of it! Well done. Thanks in advance
kai tak didnt have those light extending that far. They had a checkerboard which was on the side of the hill visible at 22:33 which was used as a guide for the turn in point

You have put a really big effort in this video. Breath taking landings, An astonishing implementation of google map resources, A very beautiful flight scenario.. wonderful graphics and for sure it's a skilled job.. one of my best sim videos of the MSFS. Thank you for this interesting video ♥♥♥♥♥

the scariest part about this is that he actually said the name of the plane correctly..
That’s what I was thinking, I needed to re-watch the part where he types the plane type, I thought he had typed “Boing” to purposefully get it wrong lol

San Francisco being called clean and safe was the only bogus part about this. Everything else was a masterpiece. Great video!
Thanks for watching! That was sarcasm
Clean and safe? I sense a bit of sarcasm in this description. Maybe it was clean and safe about 15 years ago.
