I love the idea of a b/w+ gluebook/journal. I have a b/w photo magazine which has some amazing images as well as some of the b/w TH collage sheets. I just hadn't started my journal yet but just now saw a Halloween magazine with b/w pumpkins that added to the inspiration, thanks for the push, I needed that.

Just started a doodle journal that is white paint pens on black journal paper. You’ve inspired me to think about not just doing doodles, but to look for black & white images & glue them in there too! Thanks Shannon!

Shannon Green - Sounds great. At the moment I’m binging TH-cam while my hubby and I try to get well from COVID. Everyday is a new symptom and some days I feel fine. It’s on those days I get into my studio and play in the glue. 😄

Looking fabulous, I really love the idea of just a black and white journal, sadly for me I don't seem to get the same amount of good magazines that where once on the shelves, they gone smaller, paper quality gone down and more images with writing through them these days. But I can enjoy watching you play, so that's a good thing. Tfs xo

You teach us lots of stuff and I only found DeeDee last week and very cool stuff she does too. I have lots of ideas a brewing of different books and journals for glueing... Thanks for showing the paste covered with plastic wrap. I have been using a brush directly in the jar and then washing the paste down the drain when I clean the brush. I think I have wasted a lot of paste.
I’m harvesting like crazy right now and have magazine images ready for my b&w book! I’ve never heard of Yes paste I’ll have to see if it’s available here in Scotland as it looks useful xxx💕
Really enjoyed seeing how you gather and start your glue book! I love the idea of just a black and white journal with just a pop of red, silver and gold here and there! I need to start one for myself! Do you need to cut some pages out to keep it from getting a big alligator mouth, or do you just let it be as big as it wants, as you work in it? Thanks!
Although I understand the hesitation for using some color in the journal, I think the pop of color here and there throughout the journal is going to make the journal more interesting to look through. A bit of the unexpected always provides variety and a more exciting journey through the journal. Keep the pops of color sporadic and spread out so it doesn’t appear on every page or in any kind of systematic fashion. I think you will really enjoy making this journal.
where do you get your teflon roll from? I am a newbie, and just use paper to cover my surface - which then gets covered with glue. I assume the teflon can be washed off in a sink? I will look into YES paste. Do you ever use security envelopes? (the patterned insides)
Where do you get an 8.5 x 11 journal similar to this one? And what do u use for storage, etc since u don't use these bins which I don't like either...🙏😢

This is so true, print media has definitely changed in recent years. Thankfully some thrift stores still have some older versions available.

I let mine get as big as they want to! But if you prefer a tidier journal then you can absolutely remove pages before you start.

Yes, teflon sheets can be easily washed. You can usually find individual sheets at craft stores but I buy my big rolls here: www.sealersupply.com
