Thank you for this of course. I remember the picture of Eltham High Street shown here with the old street lights that there were then. I think they were replaced then in the 1980s though so then too. The buses seem nice too of course. Well done too!
I like watching those pictures of all the types from then and how much they have changed in shape the numbers who ever thought of all them must have a good brain to think and chang now and then
Great video. Mostly AECs but never mind. We at Oldham had some of the first Atlanteans,,,, my god the trouble we had. Bursted Flywheels on one it spewd oil upto the top deck. It was embarrasing seeing passengers alighting with oil on there cloths. But our PD2 so great my favourite was no 444, fastest bus we had. On the 90s Route from Rochdale to Manchester non stop ,,she got to 56mph on Broadway Chadderton. These where great times for Buses, keep up with the videos, it keeps my memory going at 76years .well done.
Number plate curiosity at 4:00. A teacher at our school owned a Morris Minor with the weird registration 713 F, and here is a bus 2046 F. I believe this is because Essex County Council were the sole issuing authority to re-use their original single letter allocation when the time came to issue the reversed arrangement with numbers first. The letter allocated by the 1903 Act to Essex CC was 'F' - ironically they had just missed out on the more appropriate 'E'! When issuing number plates that had numbers first, other councils skipped their single letter code (LCC A, Lancashire B, Yorkshire C etc) and only used their double letter allocations (eg LA, LB... LY in London). Essex alone reused their 'F'. As far as I have ever seen! So I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong. (Sorry for the long post.)
Those old Daimler double deckers were not good to drive , they had no power steering and it was no problem if it was greased regular , I was driving one as a duel crew and had a full load on , I worked on Tyneside and was turning right into north shields square , everyone got up to get off and the with extra weight over the front I couldn't turn the wheel enough , I had to reverse and take a second go at it , it was a pretty good workout though hahaha.
I liked seeing photos taken of Barton and Midland General in Huntingdon St, Broad Marsh and Mount St bus stations. Wish they had been in colour though. Also Nottingham City Transport Atlantean JTV 491E enroute to Clifton. Looks to be new by the shine.
A glimpse of old England? Not boring at all. I was interested to see Eltham High Street twice in the last minute where the two "21" Buses crossed over as I moved from Inner London in 1983 to 2 miles further out from Eltham and caught that 21 Bus to ring me most of the way out here. 37 years later I am STILL incredulous that I moved but I am really glad I did....lol

RIP Bob Grant and Reg Varney.
Thanks for the laughs.
Just closed my eyes and listened to the engine. Has to be a Routemaster? Brought back so many memories as a kid!
Possibly - I thought it was maybe an RT? Whichever, melodious sounds modern vehicles don't have!
Love the East Kent coach at 1.35, those front seat passengers had an amazing view and a very powerful looking coach.
Great to see these old buses from years gone by.

I chose this because I was born in 1952. Brings back memories!

Lovely!!!!
At 5:43 - Crewe Bus Station. Bristol Lodekka (K12) & Bristol Highbridge (K2). At 5:49 Lodekka (K33) to Sandbach Rail Station.
Like old cars, these buses have that little extra character, originality, and a whole identity , unlike the current hi tech mass of the sameness !
Glory of Transport 😘😘Nimepanda hizo bus Mombasa double decker.
Some of these pre date the 50's and 60's 😎
I wanted these pictures to be in color....sorry !
How boring was that!

If you thought it was boring, why watch it.
