I was searching to repair a expensive (and broken) umbrella I did find on the sidewalk after a storm. I was very intrigued by this video. Bravo to you.
I will most likely attempt this; however, the music choice for this video is on point. It was like watching How it’s made on the discovery channel with good music. 😁👍
Although a nice inventive idea, tbh, I didn't understand what was going on or about to happen up until the very end. I'm assuming the numbers were voltage? I could be wrong. I'm no electrician. But long story short, you did save some $ creating your own extended camera shutter aka "selfie stick" (for the young'uns). Now I wonder what you'll invent with the remainder of the broken umbrella. P. S. When we were kids growing up, I've watched my brother make so many useful things out of what others would consider useless garbage, or things they'd just throw away. Or he'd even make things work again like they were never broken! Our mom would think he was just collecting trash. Then he took me to his room to show me a lot of things he had made from so many things I'd see him randomly pick up (when walking to and from school, or playing outside). Things like a working CB Radio out of an old school (large ones) stereo deck or transistor radio that had those long bulb things in the back. And even spoke with truck drivers who were on the road across the country, using his CB Radio he made! He even made a lightbulb work using aluminum foil and a potato! No battery! I've no idea how he did that or many other things he did. But he worked his mojo and made it all happen. He got into trouble when mom came in her kitchen to find her toaster taken apart & broke down. She asked him why in Earth he'd do something like that! He said, "I just wanted to see how it works!". When he was old enough to get out on his own, he graduated with a trade in electronics. He's been doing it ever since, to date. That, I believe was his calling. Your video here reminded me of that.
For all those who came here expecting that the umbrella will be repaired, you'll be disappointed. The title of the video is misleading. This is a video about making a selfie stick .
I’ve been a DIY’r all my life. There are times however when commonsense should prevail. I just purchased an adaptor for my iPhone 13 pro max. 10.00, and all I had to do was read instructions and mount the phone. What you did is good in one way. Then again I feel you’d have to be totally bored out of your mind to go through all the engineering to complete such a task as you did just to save a few dollars. I know the reward in doing it yourself is priceless. Then again, is it really?
Words, please!! Why do people do this? Are they embarrassed of the sound of their own voice or what!? It's very frustrating to have a video where someone isn't even explaining what they're doing.
No offence but I prefer an umbrella over a selfie stick :/ albeit a broken umbrella is useless but I don’t use a selfie stick, so equally useless so this would be a waste of time >_< TH-cam why did you link me this video! 😡
ONE OF THE BEST UMBRELLA REPAIR VIDEOS ON TH-cam. NOT! HOWS ABOUT RETITLE,MAYBE HOW TO HACK A SELFIE STICK FROM A BUSTED UMBRELLA... SRY FOR RUDENESS,BUT TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THIS UMBRELLA...
