There's a double CD called Mark III: The Final Concerts with different versions from the same concerts; starts off with Burn & segues into Stormbringer for that 1-2 punch; if they did the double album you suggest they could have added in Lay Down Stay Down, The Gypsy, Might Just Take Your Life, & of course a requisite Smoke on the Water all of which work well live.
Made In Europe was released after Purple split in '76. The sleeve notes kicked Tommy Bolin in the teeth, and the applause was a tape loop. It was meant to be a double album, and it was edited to death. Purely a money grabbing exercise by their record company. MK4 at Long Beach craps all over it, Tommy is fantastic.
i can't stand Hughes and Coverdale is hit and miss, mostly miss, but the other 3 are firing on all cylinders, esp. Ritchie who at this point was starting his peak (but Ian Paice is also absolutely killing it). I'm glad there's no Mk2 stuff on here, because they didn't do those justice. THe only other Mk3 release you need in my opinion is Live In London (the 2007 2cd edition which restores that show to its full length, minus some banter)
I love it. To me You Fool No One is fantastic. Love when they stretch out.
