Thank you! I'm down to the white plastic, and was scratching my head as to how to get it off. Just knew it was going to be tricky....I believe you have just saved me buying a new part!
Thanks a bunch! ... I just fixed mine using your video. My upholstered piece had already come off on its own. I still broke one tab, but you can't tell after I put it all back on.
I want to thank you for your video, I was very helpful. My F250 super duty is a 2004 with the molded pad and it was coming loose on the ends. Without the map of the clips you could not get this off without breaking it. There are at least two different clip patterns. My pattern is the same as yours but another guy posted one up for a 2004 with the molded pad and it was different. So any body doing this determine which you have before you start drilling
I was able to use a butter knife to release the clips but this helped a lot to figure out how to pop the clips. I used my air stapler and redid it myself
I know this has been around for a while but I found it most useful. I found a hard plastic replacement for the entire thing and going to use your vid to get the old one off. I guess you just have to peel the vinyl off. It's torn up on one side anyway. No biggie. FYI. The hard plastic replacement's front four clips are like the ones on your corrected map.
@@russellkamp8923 eBay, believe it or not. It's an aftermarket hard plastic but anything looked better than what was there. The holes lined up perfectly and all. I have a 2003 and my son just caught the pad on his shoe and pulled the cover on my truck half way off. I will pull the pad the rest of the way off and then try to reattach my pad myself. By the way, coincidentally I spent 15 yrs as an E3 firefighter for the agency that I retired from. 🍻
One part I failed to include in the video was you have to remove the upholstered piece to expose the white bracket. Mine was already coming loose so it was easy to separate it.
I have the same year F350 with the 40-20-40 front seat configuration. Very helpful video here... Question: My upholstered cup holder piece is starting to show signs of distortion from time and heat as I can see parts of the white bracket at the edges with this piece pulling away, but still it largely sits where it is supposed to. I would like to remove it without damaging it in order to get to the white bracket. I am actually reupholsering the truck with new leather replacement covers and I'm trying to figure out how to R and R the center seat back cover. It seems to tuck straight down around the perimeter shell so it appears removal of the white bracket is needed to be able to do this. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated.
I personally want to keep mine stock and have an upholstery shop fix it like you did. The all plastic replacements that are available online are a last resort.
How hard is it to remove the whole console and work on it outside the vehicle? FYI this is the first "How to" video I've ever watched start to finish. Usually I skim throught the parts where the dude is yapping about nothing. Best, most useful video I've ever watched.
Thank you. I’ve removed white plastic and so far unable to locate a skillful upholsterer able to duplicate your project (my console is also warped). I live in south Florida - do you know of anyone here who may be able to help me? Great video. Thanks
That's interesting you can't find a local upholsterer to fix your console. I had no problems using a local one in my area. I don't have any knowledge of anyone in Florida
Great video!!! I still broke a couple clips, No biggie, will still be fine. But I can't find where to buy a new lid or the whole seat. Been looking for hours online. My lid is in many pieces
Do you also have an '01? If so, were the rest of the directional arrows pointed in the correct direction? On my early '01, I've drilled holes for the two clips at the passenger rear corner of the white plastic frame and the clips are not moving, so I'm wondering if in my truck I need to drill on the opposite side of those clips. I guess a few extra holes won't compromise it.

Still very helpful today in 2022 . Thank you !

Great diagram and tutorial! Thank you! I was able to fix my center console using your technique!

Seen a lot of great videos but this is the best. Great job! Now I can make the cup holder look nice

Keith Cooper ..... I found parts to be impossible to find as well.
Eng3Capt I think I just saw one on eBay for $75. Just the part as seen in the vid.
Keith Cooper there's a seller on eBay who sells these fully upholstered. Also makes for different years and different colors
Hi do u have the info for the ebay seller for this parts?
Awesome! Just what I was looking for. Thank You.
You are my hero! Nice jod!
Very good video. I need to do the same for my truck. Did you reuse the existing cover material?
I had it recovered
Hey. nice video. how'd you get the lid off of the back half?
Huge thank you…
I haven't had to deal with removing any existing cloth so I have no idea how you should remove it....
Pop it up, break the clips if you have to, take the new one and glue it down

Haven't done it yet. But thank you.

Thanks for the video. Much appreciated...
Life and buck saver!! Thanks
I have the same center console, and got an entire new one, how did you remove it from the vehicle?
How did you remove the padding on the console, my tabs broke off. It would be easier if I replace the entire Piece.
Thank you!

Thanks for the video good info!
Thank you so much for this!

Guess what your original diagram for the front clips is right. Ask me how I know
