True, we won’t be hearing Jake belt out notes as high as Charice did, but I think being able to perform so well despite having a lower range is impressive. I adore both voices, but I’m happy that he’s able to continue doing what he loves while being true to himself.

To me Charice's voice always has a vocal range that was unforgettable plus emotion and her signature ability to draw you in to being totally focused on that particular song/performance.Each was memorable and sometimes timeless! @@2011blueman Mans gotta retrain his upper belts before he starts doing all those vocals all over again. Also, maybe don't be bitter that he transitioned over his voice. His OG voice was only as dark and heavy as it was due to tongue root tension, His voice overall has actually improved in terms of technique since he transitioned, he's just lost a lot of his range and agility due to transitioning. Plus, a lot of his vocal qualities are still there. His lower register is pretty decent, his voice is still heavy and his pre-belts are some of the best I've heard in general. That's something I don't think he had before transitioning.

Of course it's gonna sound different when the voice deepens. It's hard to sing the deeper voice you have, because you have more to handle. Like for Jake, suddenley he got much more, and deeper, voice . Of course it might sound like he's a karaokeboy in the beginning. We all just need to wait for a while, he'll get to know how his new voice feels and sounds like, and will be able to know it's limits.

Lulu Ivona that’s a good question actually. When a person transitions that make their body start to produce the hormones of the gender that are transitioning into. As a result (depending which direction they’re going) it causes they’re vocal range to raise or lower, along with several other physical changes.
As I singer myself, I cherish the fact that I have a nice range but Charice's voice was a gift from God and I feel it was a disservice for her to let that voice change and morph to fit Jake now. It's her life and I support her 100% on doing what she feels right but why tamper with that amazing voice. I wish Charice the best. THE VOICE will be truly missed indeed.

Actually, I kinda like his voice more (his current sound). We must remember that even if his voice and gender changed, he's still a person who was once a world wide phenomenal artist. Ok let’s take sexuality out of this conversation, because I am not even having it. In my opinion, charice’s potential and ceiling was way higher than Jake. Again, in my opinion. We obviously have much more of Jake to see over the years, so only time will tell. And I guess I am biased because I am a huge sucker for female power ballads (esp Whitney) and she sang it flawlessly every single time.

I'm pretty sure Jake is happy that he finally gets to feel like himself. Yes, his pre-transition voice was epic but his current voice is nice as well. However no matter how much talent there was I'm sure it felt somewhat hollow feeling trapped inside a persona and life that he felt wasn't right.

Yea the tone is different now obviously, getting a lot more vocal fry compared to pre-transition when his tone was velvety smooth in the low end and had that perfect resonance like crystal in the upper range. Either way, still a very talented singer and I'm curious to see how his voice continues to develop. Imagine being one of the best guitar players in the world and then you decide to change to piano and never go back to guitar again. The musical foundation and technique is already there but it takes time to learn a new instrument.

Both voices have some extreme POWER! However, it's obvious Charice had more range than Cyrus ever will. That duet in the end is MIND BLOWING!

Also, maybe don't be bitter that he transitioned over his voice. His OG voice was only as dark and heavy as it was due to tongue root tension, His voice overall has actually improved in terms of technique since he transitioned, he's just lost a lot of his range and agility due to transitioning.
Plus, a lot of his vocal qualities are still there. His lower register is pretty decent, his voice is still heavy and his pre-belts are some of the best I've heard in general. That's something I don't think he had before transitioning.

Of course it's gonna sound different when the voice deepens. It's hard to sing the deeper voice you have, because you have more to handle. Like for Jake, suddenley he got much more, and deeper, voice . Of course it might sound like he's a karaokeboy in the beginning.

Lulu Ivona that’s a good question actually. When a person transitions that make their body start to produce the hormones of the gender that are transitioning into. As a result (depending which direction they’re going) it causes they’re vocal range to raise or lower, along with several other physical changes.
As I singer myself, I cherish the fact that I have a nice range but Charice's voice was a gift from God and I feel it was a disservice for her to let that voice change and morph to fit Jake now. It's her life and I support her 100% on doing what she feels right but why tamper with that amazing voice. I wish Charice the best. THE VOICE will be truly missed indeed.

We obviously have much more of Jake to see over the years, so only time will tell. And I guess I am biased because I am a huge sucker for female power ballads (esp Whitney) and she sang it flawlessly every single time.

I respect her decision to change from Charice to Jake, but Jake Cyrus is not an extraordinary singer. There's nothing extraordinary with his voice. Unlike Charice's voice which really standsout, Jake's voice doesnt make me feel the song.

It's so hard - but Jake made a choice for his life - not for his fans. Charice's voice WAS unbelievable. Just phenomenal. Thank goodness we have it on recordings. Onward Jake! You brave soul! - hope you are happy and learn to use your new voice with as much skill as your old voice.

I'm pretty sure Jake is happy that he finally gets to feel like himself. Yes, his pre-transition voice was epic but his current voice is nice as well. However no matter how much talent there was I'm sure it felt somewhat hollow feeling trapped inside a persona and life that he felt wasn't right.
Charice "was" something else.
Both voices are unique in their own ways. Kudos to Jake Zyrus before and after the transition.

Yea the tone is different now obviously, getting a lot more vocal fry compared to pre-transition when his tone was velvety smooth in the low end and had that perfect resonance like crystal in the upper range. Either way, still a very talented singer and I'm curious to see how his voice continues to develop. Imagine being one of the best guitar players in the world and then you decide to change to piano and never go back to guitar again. The musical foundation and technique is already there but it takes time to learn a new instrument.
Seriously loving the vocal qualities of Charice especially those high notes that are not strain and full of resonance.. But Jake on the other hand..
