It’s NOT a suspension bridge at 17:09! It’s a cable stayed bridge because there’s NO cable running from anchors at end to end over the towers and down in middle. A common misunderstanding since cable stayed design is relatively new and only started in the mid 80’s in US, I believe. Sunshine Skyway over Tampa Bay was one of the first in 1987. Cable stayed have numerous cables running in upside down V pattern from the towers holding the deck in place.
Oversize has to run depending on permit. Most permits allow day time only from sun up until sun down. Depending on the area and load they will sometimes do night moves.
Hi Dave. I have been watching you're videos for years. I love this Volvo truck you're in. I'm not a trucker, but I been on the road before with a friend and he had a Volvo. I always loved the Volvo design.
I live right off at Sellersburg ramp. Nice to see you coming through home.. 4 months ago you go down 65 and you look to your right you'll see Century Industries that's where I work right after the second Sellersburg ramp
Callthemall is another trucker I watch on TH-cam and this Mudduck person somehow reached to his CB from NM all the way up to Canada. Crazy... Stay safe Dave, thanks for the video! 💜
Dave! He's back! I missed your videos, sir. Request now that you're going again.... set the camera up one night while you're at the truck stop while it's raining and let that bad boy go. Or any other rain/trucking content you can come up with. No idea why but trucks + rain are my happy place.
My first thought when he says 'come to the terminal for an empty trailer' is that he's getting a brand new trailer being added to the fleet. ;) New trailer starting at the company HQ makes a lot of sense.
@@kempo_95 they work in districts and i dont think indianapolis is in his lmfao they probably just didnt have enough trailers down south and too many up north
One thing that bugged me the most when Trucking otr rather staying out for weeks or home every weekend I cannot stand it when they book you loads that flip your schedule I'd deny them and tell them to keep my schedule it's hard enough for me to stay on a routine sleeping schedule as it is without them screwing it up ain't nothing worse than Trucking and can barely keep your eyes open
I agree, it's my public enemy #1. Nothing will make me unhappier faster. So far I've stayed on schedule here 90% of the time so it's an upgrade from before.
24:56 - I live in Windsor, Connecticut... and I have the same problem with certain Chinese Food Restaurants... Long story short... I know of three in my area but I always go to the one down the street from my house... but it's obvious that you don't have that option... sometimes (if you have the time) it takes looking at reviews on Google about a particular restaurant...
if you come trough lexington ky again stop at golden buffet of richmond rd athens boonesboro rd exit off i-75 south or north. enough parking space as well in the plaza, i think you guys have a terminal here in georgetown ky
Hey, I think I saw ya driving up 75! I was heading down from KY to GA. I remember seeing an Online bobtail and thought, "Huh, that could be Dave!" Finally on hometime after a month (and being stranded in South Florida for two days with a rejected customer load, just an hour from home - that sucked). Cool beans, save driving.
I was waiting for you to say in a Foghorn Leghorn Impersonation. "Ahhhhhhhhh Shad up" to the CB with that one driver at the truck stop and the one on the bridge HAHA. Anyway Great video Brother Keep up the awesome content!
I would've nosed in first in the front of that building, back in. Parked off the side, cross the empty parking spaces, just case any vehicle is coming. Get around you. That's trucking! :)
Dave dude, that’s a great idea to start out midnight drive dying the light hours into daylight. And sleep during the day. That way early day parking you can easily find a parking spot, get your shit done and eat if they close at night.get up early and go.Well kept secret.
Times to run oversized loads depends on the states you’re running. Some are only sun up To sun down, and some are sun se to sun up. And some may have no restrictions at all. Depends on the size of the load….
That guy on the cb you heard. I listened to him from Chicago all the down thru southern Illinois last weekHe wound not shut up. Kept saying he was in the desert. He’s putting out some power on that radio
I was in HOLLYWOOD California I had to pick up ay the Warner Brothers studio from their imaginering building a sign for Phillip-Morris in Richmond Virginia and it was my 1 and only pick up. It was a sign on a canvas sheet that was rolled up on a 4' piece of pvc it weighed 5lbs total weight! I ended up calling my dispatcher and asking what else I'm going to pick up and he said nothing because they paid for the whole trailer and that's what I'm getting. So I drove from HOLLYWOOD California to Richmond Virginia with absolutely nothing in my trailer. Our yard is one exit down from that delivery at Phillip-Morris so I delivered it in our shops pick up lol man I had the best fuel economy of my life on that trip lol
I've been bobtailing from Florence, SC to Lafayette IN to get new trailers for my company from Wabash the past few weeks. It's def a different experience lol
I live full-time in the semi and choose not to have a vehicle. The only place I don't take my truck is the local bar to save the owner from receiving multiple phone calls even though i wouldn't be drinking..😅
That's mud duck in the desert. He's in New Mexico. I hear him everyday in TN loud and clear. When I saw you drinking Sun drop in the last video I lost it. I drink that everyday. I don't drink coffee, but gotta have my Sundrop!!
I've lived my entire life in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. I've seen some seriously oversize loads in the region and know for certain that I also tend to only see them running at night - especially if it's the really heavy nuclear power related loads coming out of San Onofre. Since they tend to run slower speeds and often with pusher trucks, they run only at night so they minimize impact on traffic. In other areas, I do see OS loads moving only during daytime hours.
What do truckers do when they have a tractor/trailer and they want to go to a regular restaurant to eat? Is it hard finding parking? Do you have to sometimes park several blocks away sometimes if it's a small lot?
Alcohol free listerine😂 Dot😂Dude youre paranoid. The alcohol is what kills the germs. Do tou have the alcohol tolerance of a bird? drunk on listerine?😂
I had the same thought. Getting alcohol-free Listerine just because of concerns about testing positive on a DOT alcohol test is absurd. I use regular Listerine all the time. I've never had any problems with it showing up on alcohol tests.
3:37 oh crap a ford Aeromax! Also that random guy on the CB might be a guy called MudDuck he pisses off a lot of truckers with his random rambling. I’ve never heard him (fortunately) but in a fb group they complain about him a lot.
Over 16′ wide, over 15′ high, or over 200,000 pounds are usually allowed to move 8:30 am - 3:30 pm Monday through Friday, but other provisions may apply. Overweight only loads can travel 24/7. RESTRICTED TRAVEL: No travel allowed on major holidays and holiday weekends. THIS IS FOR INDIANA
Nice backpack, not like me and my dad have the same ones for out computers. I use mine for school and he uses it to hold his work computers and supplies. Otherwise nice video man!!!

Good job Dave, watching and listen to you as you drive, I feel like I am driving too. Thanks for your videos.

Dave what happened at the terminal ? No way they’re letting you go, great driver with a great personality, they have a super asset with you .

The CB 14:19 😂😂😂😂
Across the interstate is a Loves that has Subway in it in Waddy KY
I dont think sending you 7 hours away just for an empty trailer is efficient for them lol. Thanks for the video Dave!
My suspicion is that they did not have enough drivers around Indianapolis at that time. But we will see in the next video.

Still wondering how Dave manages to use a narrow neck water bottle for ‘lemonade’…🤔
Just the tip John, just the tip.
Precision
@@RidingWithDave ok…other drivers I know of have better results with coolant bottles as larger quantity plus opening…less chances of spilling.
I’m more concerned with total capacity than opening size honestly. 🤣
@ridingwithdave I saw a online trucking truck in Weber city va

Clearing out empties in Indi no good loads in Johnson City

Yes they cannot drive at night and they have specific routes they have to adhere to for their permits too.
i love the new format!
I like the way you "sass" the GPS. Too funny.

Yes that is correct oversized can only run during the day. Also Co. Do strange things.
There are some states you can run oversized at night.
so wonderful beautiful video friend Dave i love it so much

I drive oversize. It depends on what you’re hauling and what state you’re in. There’s a lot of restrictions which all can be found on permit.

I heard the same guy on the cb from central PA saturday. Heard an old southern man from florida telling stories the same day.
That radio in the desert is MudDuck. You hear him over most the country. He's usually on the radio in the afternoon.

Why? He said he was using up the leftover part of a back to back space that had been occupied by an oversized truck when he parked there.
