As regards Phil Taylor: yes, I think he would very probably still be as dominant today as he was a couple of decades ago. He was averaging around and even over 110 regularly throughout entire matches, even the longer ones, AND whole tournaments, and his combination finishing and doubling were metronomically regular. Taylor was a one-off, like Don Bradman. The greatest there ever will be.
Top player can no longer rest on their laurels without looking over their shoulders at the chasing pack. Depth in the top 100 has never been so strong.
