  • Many people feel Magico speakers are amongst the best audiophile speakers in the world.
However, no matter how great the technology and parts, it requires an ideal setup to ensure maximum performance.
In this video, I interview a Magico representative who shares more insight into the speakers and setup.

I agree with ideal set up. The Magico's say here we are and you have to dial in the room to meet the speaker. Barillium could sound awfully bright and too technical unless you get everything just right. Magic is not to everyone's taste. Von Scweikert has some great speakers with lots of adjustments but usually sound best pulled far away from the wall which doesn't lend itself well too smaller rooms. I listened to the Sonus Faber Aida 2's yesterday and was really impressed with the craftmanship up close and the sound. Might be upgrading next year.

A nice description of the technology but I'm still waiting for the setup discussion and info???

He briefly touched on it when discussing the M6 and how he pulled them out and uses a "3 channel method" to gauge performance.
However, as I mentioned, I'll be going to their facility and will focus more on that aspect as well as their great reference room to give more details.

What track was being used to match gain between the left channel, right channel, and phantom center channel?

    • @hifi2169
      @hifi2169 ปีที่แล้ว +1

OK does anybody else have a standard track they use when performing this set up technique?

You can use almost anything. They were using a variety of material, but I have an upcoming video with reference music playlist.

Reason I ask is I’ve been using a channel identification track and it doesn’t have tones it’s just a speaking voice, and it makes it difficult to measure. The other thing that I’m finding is that there seems to be 2 or 3 dB of gain in the center phantom channel , and even when I tow the speakers out or spread them apart or move them closer together I’ve still got that center phantom gain?
      Any suggestions?

If I bought a new pair of M6 (or any speaker for that matter) I wouldn't want the dealer to have them unboxed and on display in the store like that before I took delivery of them.

When you say, they’ll fit into “most people’s homes”, I’m curious, do most people have $172,000 to spend on speakers…😂😢

  • @iampuzzleman282

This is a $175,000 speaker pair. The MBL speakers are feeling really ignored right now, is it safe to leave these two speaker brands in the same room at the same time when they turn the lights off.
The magical sales rep is a real smooth talker. I like the comments about when the sound waves come back and hit the speaker and how that impacts things. The speakers are not down firing are they?
The speakers have to be on loan until sold. I do love the speakers and want them to share my double bed, both of them. They can handle a three-way I bet.
This room definitely needs a carpet
