Like who for example ?! Naito ? don't think so .. Ospreay ? didn't work good .. Takagi ? didn't work either .. Sanada ? Mid Carder .. Tanahashi ? Old and done with the main event scene .. ZSJ ? Too skinny to be a Main eventer .. The only guy worthy of being the true main eventer leader and heavyweight champion is Okada Or Jay White.

I think as a collective we’re beginning to speak out more on New Japans booking. I think we can all agree Osprey should of won the G1 and Tama should of won that match. We love Okada but give someone else a run who deserves more chances. Ospreay, Tama Tonga, give Naito a final run to be top notch, push Hiromu. Do something with Kenta! Jesus Christ!

Jay White winning this proves new Japan has no idea how to bring a new story arc to fruition. They're so stuck on 3 or 4 people and refuse to let them go. Tama could've done wonders for the title and more than deserves it
this match isn´t the problem, tama is new in the main event scene and winning the title to soon would make it lose relevance, but make okada win the g1 by third fucking time is so stupid and generic, we could have jay white vs will osprey, two young talents changing the main event scene for good, but okada is going to beat white again

Look at Jay bullying (in character) and respecting that young Lion (out of character) all in one go. I guess that's all a part of the promo. it's really been 4-1 to Okada wow, when i started looking into NWJP, The Rain Maker seemed untouchable.
Even after everything he has achieved and titles he has won i think he is still under rated. He should have been above everything in AEW. & i have no doubt he will be back in AEW when the time is right to concur the main event and win AEW heavyweight championship
White has always had to live under the shadow of his opportunity coming because Omega left. He was thrown into that spot and does awesome at it... he's one of the best heels in the business... but it's hard to shake that stigma of being a runner-up Omega, no matter how good you are.
That's a put over for Tama Tonga by Jay White we know in the future Tama will win the IWGP belt within 2 years, first he will win the G1 Climax and go from there
The whole recycling of the same matches in the main event scene is really hurting NJPW. They are in so much need of new main event players, Tama was right there…
Don't they have a partnership w/ AEW? Maybe they can use a couple of their talent that they're not using right now to freshen things up. Miro is a great example.
And WK is right there, makes sense that the already proven and built star and lets face it Okada is winning the belt back wherever we like it or not. Would you rather have the person who takes the pin be a guy who would wrap up a 7 month reign or a guy who for lack of a better term be a transitional champion just for a "brief fresh scene"

It really is a shame that Naito's reign started when Covid hit because that's twice that he was never given a legitimate shot at the top despite winning the belt. New Japan has not been the same since then...
Japan likes to promote their younger guys for the belts. Okada is still in his 30's, white in his 20's, Naito debut around the same time as ishii, goto, Nakamura and Tanahashi. He's already in his 40's. That's just how it works there. If you look at the other champs Osprey and Takagi are both younger too
Naito is my favorite, I just wish they’d change their booking habits and how it’s ran in the company. They really need to switch up.

I’m sorry. And njpw fans may come after me but I’m sick of this. The main event of wrestle kingdom this year is a rematch? When there are plenty of guys like Zack Sabre Jr., Will Ospreay, Tama Tonga, SANADA, Shingo Takagi, Taichi, Jon Moxley, etc. who would be a fresh and awesome face in the main event of the new Japan cards. Some of these guys have been here for years. I love long term booking stories but there comes a point where you start to feel hopeless and I don’t care what you are booking, you never want fans to feel that. I’m sick of all of the same guys getting the same stories, fighting the same opponents over and over and over again. This will be Okada’s 8th Tokyo dome main event. I know that WWE and AEW have their faults and trust me, they have had some big ones. At least they constantly look towards the future and push guys like Wheeler Yuta and Johnny Gargano and Finn Balor. I know that this is probably traditional to stick with one or a few guys who run through everybody in Japan but if they plan to go global like they were trying to before COVID hit, then they need to change things now because more and more people are getting sick of this same shtick from New Japan! And leaving!

Even back then before Okada, New Japan Pro Wrestling had more than just three guys running the main event scene and they were even okay with outsiders having a run at the world title at times.

For God's sake NJPW, unless White retains, this main event is just stupid. We just seen it! Does this have to be once again the usual story of Okada loses so that he just gets the win back first time he gets the chance? Do we need this story, again? I get it, he only beat Jay once and Jay beat him 4 times, Okada hasn't beat him on Wrestle Kingdom either. Does he have to? Okada is already a legend. He doesn't need coronation number eight thousand. We already know he's the best. But would it have been a better story if Naito was there to have his final moment at the Dome, winning the belt, having the roll call at the end without interferences this time? Then he could have lost the belt back to White soon after that, whatever, but it would have been a better story. Then you could have had Okada beat White at next year Dominion, at least chase the belt for an entire year or something. But this thing of "loses to a guy, wins a title shot in some way, gets the title back immediately" is *old* . He did it several times since 2012. It has been 10 years. We get it, he's great, he's the best, doesn't have to stay on top all the damn time to prove it anymore though.

It's a longer story than you seem to understand right now.
Tama Tonga was trueborn of New Japan, deserted the home army as kohai to Karl Anderson when Prince Devitt launched Bullet Club, and had basically been on outlaw since, growing into being a shot caller for Bullet Club.
Jay White kicks him out, he takes his lumps for a while, but eventually he returns to the home army, making amends for many of his past transgressions and returning to the Lions Mark.
Shifts the look, cleans up the physique some, proudly fights for New Japan... and not only does he almost win the G1, he pins the IWGP World Heavyweight champion.
Hopefully he gets something interesting to work through for WrestleKingdom, but 2023 is shaping up to be a monster year for Tama Tonga if things break his way
