    Did you seat them straight onto the soil, or did you put a subbase down. Also, do you bitumen the bottom of the sleepers that sit on the ground?
    I'm just wondering if it's necessary?

    Can you tell me what kind of wood these are made from? I was just wondering what part of the railway they are used for. I thought they might be what we call railroad ties, that go under the rails. But they are always treated with creosote. Sorry to be a pest, just trying to learn something new perhaps. But the beds look great! 👍🏻

    • @LHLgardenservices
      @LHLgardenservices  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes you are correct railway sleepers go under the tracks and are pressure treated with creosote. These are just a modern equivalent in size and shape and treated with wood preserver and they are called " railway sleepers" but I honestly don't think they can be used for the railway . Also I'm not 100% but I think these are soft wood and the "real" ones are hardwood 💪💪💪
