I like my usual defined jaw it was weird not looking like myself. If you have a promo are jawline it will definitely help and will be noticeable. As for the Tmj it worked after a couple weeks I didn’t grind for about two months, lots of drooling lol but by 3months I was back to normal grinding. Will not get again as I don’t feel like it’s worth the cost. Being in braces I can’t wear a guard but only a couple more months left so I’ll deal with grinding til then!

Hello Dr.Yoo, I just came across of your formative video about the masseter Botox, and it’s so helpful! Thks for letting us know thoses littles important details! :) Also, about this type of Botox, I would like to have your opinion .. hm do you think is a good idea to inject one side 15 units and the other side 25 units... is this big difference of units could it be a bad suggestion/idea? I actually have a side bigger than the other that’s why I suspect the TMJ on the bigger side is have a stronger presence of a sharp pain around my ear/jaw area, so I wondered if it’s better to inject this difference of units or is it better to untouched one side ( only to inject Botox on one side) ? Thank you for your time Dr.yoo, looking forward to hearing from you :) !

I had this done for teeth grinding and would never do it again. My face dropped and looked gaunt and had jowling not to mention the discomfort and pain from my jaw literally hanging open the hole time. It changes the way my face looked and I hate it. Luckily after more than 6 months the Botox has worn off and my masseters are back to working again. They are quite small but the fact that they’re working again and “flexed” has helped rectify a lot of the jowling and I feel like I have a jawline again.

So this would mean that for those with TMJ, they'll have to follow the dentist's treatment or anything? I was told to wear retainers and mouth guard at the same time for 10 hours each day (after finishing a year of braces) but my gums would bleed (probably because of the vacuum whenever I sleep), and it's just kinda painful. it's been eight years and the longest period I've worn my mouthpiece and retainers is a week straight. Other than that it's just my retainers which eventually get loose after sometime. Welp, gotta earn money and just go through an orthognathic surgery :(

      Hi wirelesschick123
Buccal fat reduction and Botox for masseter reduction actually target different areas of the face. A facial plastic surgeon could make the appropriate recommendation based on your facial anatomy. Buccal fat reduction is not indicated in patients with very thin faces, and those patients who will likely develop thin faces with aging.

If u want to reduce masseter muscle and don't wanna take a risk. You could do it yourself like stop eating hard foods cut done on things like peanuts or anything that kinda have a crunch to it. Try doing more liquid foods you can also take this opportunity to go on a diet. It will take at least 3-6weeks depending on your body health to really see any decrease NATURALLY. Much effective and safer for a long term result. Every muscle atrophy if you don't use them enough so gl.

      Hi hoalinae
Botox can reduce the size of the pores and reduce sweat production of the nasal tip skin, but it will not significantly refine a bulbous nose. Unfortunately the only safe, permanent way to achieve this is with surgery.

@@Cathhhhhh____35897 I loved it. Besides aesthetics, my TMJ was bad. My jaw sounded like a door hinge at times which made me cringe LMFAO. That helped a lot. Less tension in my jaw. Now for my cosmetic review of it, yes, it beautifully slimmed down my jawline and it was nice. Only did it once though. I know you’re particularly concerned of jowls. I don’t want my review to deceive you or anything so I just want to put out there that I’m young. Hi P A V L O
Some surgeons will perform more aggressive surgery that involves removing segments of bone to create a more tapered jawline. As with any surgery, it's important to do your research to find someone who is both experienced and achieves excellent results with the procedure.

Hi Lisa, the effects of Botox are temporary and your masseter will begin regaining its strength in 3-4 months. Once it regains it strength and you begin using it while chewing the muscle should regain its pre-treatment size in about 6 months.
