I recently got confirmation from the owner that he wants £50,000 for the land and I’m quarter of the way there with savings. Maybe I should create a go fund me and some of the rewards can be photography workshops…
For that amount you can probably buy 1 square meter of land in London.

I have been out trying to photograph squirrels several times, and haven’t seen a single one......and you got squirrels running through your backyard.....
Please get info about the worth of the forest from SCA or NorraSkog, so you actually pay what it is worth and not more because they think they can fool a foreigner. Love that you are trying to safe a part of the forest.
Your love for animals and wildlife reminds me of my late wife Laura who lost her battle w/ cancer last year 😔... watching you and the Red Squirrels and hearing about your efforts to save them was so much like something she'd do... (she and her friend drove about 90 minutes to transport 2 baby possums whose mother (mum as you say in the UK) was killed by a car)... the babies were on her back, unhurt. They got them home and into an empty tub w/ towels to keep them safe until they made contact w/ a wildlife sanctuary up in the North Georgia mountains that would take them. I just bought 2 of your calendars to help. Never change who you are... your work is stunning. A fan from "across the pond".

what a good idea that you want to buy the Squirrels forest. for this i brought the Squirrels calendar right a way. But just buying the forest is not enough i think. There need a financial plan for the future as well. Maybe an Foundation or an other group of people that shares your interest could be setup or included in your plan.
When you have that setup and share it with me; i will donated an other 50 euro to help you a little bit.

I like your Swedish squirrels with dark tails. Here in the Adirondacks in New York state we have all black squirrels. They are found in many places in North America and our population seems to be increasing. Kudos to your conservation efforts.

Those red squirrels are beautiful much nicer than the grey here in the UK. Those Northern lights are beautiful. To think a lot of people pay a lot of money to see them and you have them in your back yard. Thanks for sharing Dani and your cinematography is fantastic. Well I wasn't expecting to cry but here I am. The way you positioned the squirrel with the berries and foliage was a beautiful tribute to his/her life and to the cycle of life in the forest.

In my village, there was a small colony of red squirrel. Well, a neighbor with a very bad heart, poisoned the poor squirrels because they ate the hazelnuts from her tree.... How sad.
Fortunately, there are also people like you, who take care of your precious animals. You can tell you're kind to them and you really care.
I am a great lover of animals, from time to time I like to go out to record the fauna that I have nearby and upload content. Since I have the honor of living in a privileged area of Spain, with a very interesting fauna "almost on the doorstep" we can find Ursus arctos pyrenaicus, Canis lupus signatus, Tetrao urogallus, Aquila chrysaetos homeyeri, Felis silvestris tartessia, Vipera seoanei, Timon lepidus, the beautiful Alcedo atthis....

What a lovely project. Absolutely love that you are doing this. Just submitted my order and I really look forward to seeing the red squirrels on my wall in 2023! I've been heavily involved in old growth forest land conservation efforts in the northern California Redwood Coast and I get such a kick out of watching the gray squirrels in that forest do their thing.

I am currently up in the forests of the Cairngorms in Scotland, very similar environment. The autumn colours up here (or down here from Sweden!) are spectacular too. I have seen a dozen or so red squirrels which are a delight to behold, last June I saw none :-( What a wonderful job you do, will be buying a calendar. Good luck with the forest.

Love the idea Dani. I've seen trees cut down recently in my area, unfortunately one of those trees had a booted eagle nest on it :(. There is also red squirrels around and even though the forest wasn't destroyed, cutting down 50% of the trees in it surely doesn't help the squirrels.
So yeah, best way of protecting it is making sure it's in the hands of those who care about conservation like you.

Hi Dani, congrats for such a nice video and shots again. A lot of good things defeloped have been based of so called crazy ideas. Let see how far you can go with this idea for a squirell forrest, their own habitat. I am sure locals will be willing to support such an idea as well. GO for it. Will the money for the wildlife calendar also donated to your idea in case I would like to ask for ? All the best for you and hopefully the mornings will not be so called.
