Yep! That did it. Fixed a printer that had been in the attic for 5 yrs. Went from poor to perfect in 10 minutes. Recommended. Saved me a fortune on a new printer.
Brother Customer Service is the best!! They helped me clean my printer. It was printing red where green should be and green where red should be. She walked me through what she called a "Deep Clean" by pressing buttons on the display. Thank you, Brother!!
thank you for the clear explanations with visuals. i needed this. other videos left me lost and scared to do the liquid flush on my printer. i was bout to break the thing open... luckily i saw this video. thank youuuuu !!!!!
Just purchased the Printhead Hospital solution online and it got my printer working PERFECTLY WELL!! The black ink wasn't even printing anything and its restored it completely! I can't believe how well its worked and how much money I can save on not getting stuff printed at Staples now. Thank you so much for the video too it really helped. It is much easier to do than you think :) Awesome product thank you!
Suggest with risk of nozzle on inkjet printers drying out with infrequent use better to invest in a laser printer which absolutely is better for long periods of no use (there is no print head to dry out). Works for me...
BRILLIANT video. So clear and concise. The explanation anticipated a little glitch I had. The process worked perfectly. I went from no black printing at all to normal printing in 15 minutes. Many thanks 🙏
Success. Had to unplug the printer during printing to get the print head in the middle and accessible on the MFC-J4510DW. Followed all the other directions and this worked great. Thank you.
When injecting the alcohol, the syringe was very hard to press and withdraw. I worked it this way numerous times. Still bad printing. Finally, I more forcefully injected the alcohol and then heard a "POP." I thought the black ink line had detached somewhere or the print head was now unclogged I could then easily inject and withdraw the alcohol. And, i could hear air being forced out of the print head. And then, after several cleaning cycles, by the machine, my black print is outstanding! I determined that the "POP" I heard was a valve or clog that was opened up.

i have a question ,or two ,I have a mfc-j6520dw printer and only the black seems to be clogged have cleaned out before but after a couple pages it for reasons unknown clogs again, also what is the purpose of the small and large sponges inside the printer, the small one is hard and around the print head area and there is a larger container with large sponges in them it does have a clear line connected
Thank you, this has worked for me! :-) I bought the cleaning kit through your website that which directed me to amazon. My A3 brother J6520DW is back working. Good clear video even though my printer is a different model.
hey sir, my clear strip that u mention at 3:17 of the video, my printer has ink on it and i cant remove it... and it cause my printer to cant init error 50 code always.... how to solve that?
It is tricky to get to but try using wet paper towel or a wet ear bud on both sides of it. Dry off with paper towel as it's very sensitive to residual ink. Good luck!
tnx sir ill try later... i just now know the name of that strip it's encoder strip.... but mine has ink on it i clean all the printer and that stain only left that i think why my printer wont print tsk tks
my printer doesn't have those buttons for cleaning.... it's an MFC-J47100W. No streaks when I print, but the color is so faint! I did your test strips, everything was too light, only the blue was close to the true color, At least your video made some sense to me. I'm old and technology challenged. Most videos start explaining assuming we know more than many of us do.... it's another language to many of us older folks. Thanks!
I followed all the directions and was able to inject the cleaner but it flushes right back out again. Doesn't go to the paint head. Nothing on the paper towel. What can I do?
I have brother mfc 6520 dw printer, I did the same cleaning at home but when I turn it on and try to print or make a copies i get a blank paper no ink no colors vergen paper. What to do else
Oh, we CAN build a reliable printer... but then there'd be much less incentive to move up to the new model of the week, with it's new ink cartridges that don't fit anything else and cost as much as the printer did to begin with.
I'm unable to remove the cartridge on DCP T-500W which has a different cartridge model than the one demoed in the video. Could you pls help with link to accessing the ink tube for DCP T500W? Too bad i bought the cleaning kit before reading some of the related questions/comments here. Your video title should either explicitly call out that you don't support T series or give a demo link to cleaning T series printer
Thank you so much for this great video and I just cleaned my printer and I got it unclogged and I will not be using right away so I did not load it with cartridges just yet.
When I feed my Brother MFC-6490CW from the feeder at the top I get a black line down the side of the scan or copy page This does not happen if I lift the top and place the page on the window inside the printer
that sounds like the roller arm that pulls in the paper to scan has ink, dust, or debris in the area that you see the line on the paper. Maybe try a cleaning of the roller - we had RICO printers at a former job of mine and this was a constant issue! the before mentioned tip was the solution.
The title says "How to Clean Brother MFC and DCP printers"... which I was hoping meant cleaning it throughout including the feeder. Mine is feeding incorrectly, so I'm still looking for how to clean those rollers etc.
So what if a color or in my case black(not a color😉) still won't print after cleaning?.... the printhead is cleared... fluid goes through fine.... colors are fine just black won't print... seems like it may put a little black(super faint grey shade) on the print quality test but that's it....
My print heads are no longer clogged and the test pattern shows no missing blocks, but now everything is too light overall. Could there be fluid in the lines diluting the ink? What can I do about this?
Thank you. Partway through the "blue" page, cyan cleared up and there was a nice gradient from purple to blue. If this is something you already have a specific PDF designed for, maybe it could be added to the troubleshooting list.
Thank you for the question. I hadn't realised that Brother have released a model with a continuous ink system. I'm afraid I don't have a kit for this type of printer

any suggestions for getting the tubing onto the printer heads? I'm having no luck.
OK I finally got the tubing on- 3/4 inch long.
$10 Shipping to Canada. Not worth the cost but a great video none the less. Cheers.

Try opening the printer dialogue on the computer and running a clean under the maintenance tab
I don't know how to get it to communicate..........
I have a mfc 295cn....had it for several years and don't remember a cleaning kit coming with it....what's in that bottle?
I followed all the directions and was able to inject the cleaner but it flushes right back out again. Doesn't go to the paint head. Nothing on the paper towel. What can I do?
My dealer told be that they can only replace the head and it will cost about halve the price of a new MFC. I'm so ordering this right now!

its amazing how we have the technology to fit a computer in our pockets but cant build a reliable printer

I could not get the print head to move to the middle by pressing the red button, how can I do this my model is mfc-5860cn

Hi my Black ink is leaking on the edges of the paper and leaves marks on the page do you know what could be causing this
When I feed my Brother MFC-6490CW from the feeder at the top I get a black line down the side of the scan or copy page

Does this work for blurred printing? Mine is printing half a page of blurred text and the other half is fine. Please help!
It only fixes missing segments in the test print page. There might be an 'alignment' option in your printer's menu that fixes blurring though
@@anightin I have tried that several times, but it still prints blurry on about half of page.
@@shannonsternagle1749 I'd replace the printer then, I'm afraid
@@anightin damn. thanks for your help. much appreciated.
I cleaned as instructed. Still have 2/3 full of black ink, but still will not print black. Anyone have something similar?
Literally, me with ALL ink carts. M/C/B and Black.
NO solutions
Where is the page you can download that tests all the colours to see if there is any missing lines? Thank you :)
www.printheadhospital.co.uk/testprint.pdf
How do you clean the roller heads?
Check the maintenance menu on the printer: theres often an option for this buried in there
The title says "How to Clean Brother MFC and DCP printers"... which I was hoping meant cleaning it throughout including the feeder. Mine is feeding incorrectly, so I'm still looking for how to clean those rollers etc.

Try printing 2 pages of solid colour. You can find a pdf for this at www.printheadhospital.co.uk/testprint.pdf
Thank you. Partway through the "blue" page, cyan cleared up and there was a nice gradient from purple to blue.
If this is something you already have a specific PDF designed for, maybe it could be added to the troubleshooting list.
Great. The link should already be at the top of the instructions. We've just had some new ones printed

I have a dcp-t700w. It has an ink Tank, is there a way to do this on that set up?
Yes: just take the CISS cartridges out as normal and run the clean. Just be careful to avoid air getting in the cartridges or ink leaking out.
Printhead Hospital Does the tank come out like if it was 4 cartridges in one? I have tried to work it out but had no luck.
Hi: your video was very helpful. I got my Brother printhead working again. Thanks for uploading this.
Super presentation thanks…
Why is my brother mfc 240c
Printer saying paper jam
An there no paper jam ?
I do this approach and it work , couple days and returns doesn't work ☹️ what can i do to it??
It sounds like there might be an issue with your ink. Can you try some cartridges from a different supplier?
My copies come out green, should I clean the print head
Yes. Print a nozzle check pattern and run the printer's own cleaning routine first. This usually fixes it.
Help! The print head wont come out after holding the stop button i have a MFC-235C.
Try pulling the power cable out while it's printing a nozzle test pattern
Thanks it worked! Subed!
Oh and another thing, what shall i do with the paper stuck in the printer, will it come out when i turn it back on?
Pull it out before you clean the printer or it will cause a paper jam
How do I remove the colour cartridges from a T500W. Please help
Thank you for the question. I hadn't realised that Brother have released a model with a continuous ink system. I'm afraid I don't have a kit for this type of printer
no problem, thanks anyway
The print head doesn't come out after I hold the red Cancel button for 3 seconds on my Brother MCF-230C.
Try printing a test page and pulling the plug out while the head is moving
Works perfectly on my MFC-J825DW.
Sir my printer is telling paper jam. But there is no paper. MFC-465 CN. Please help me.
Excellent video. Thank you.
i am not able to open my brother dcp t300 printer ink tank out please help me.
I'm afraid that the T series printers can't be cleaned unless you can remove the cartridges
how can we remove the cartridge please help me
S Giridhar put the printer on accessible on the left side
Next put out the cover to access of printhead, remove the cover then there is 4 color tube and select which is block and insert the syringe with rubber tube directly which you pulled tube recently
To remove the cover please watch the how to replace the printhead on j100 but do not remove the printhead out on printer just illustrate to removing cover
After cleaning run 3x self cleaning and leave printer for 4 days to reach inks all in nozzles
J1 series and t series still the same printhead
Noldanne Quiapo but my printer is brother dcpt300 is it works to it
Pls dear Printhead Hospital We neeed your help here, can you make a video (tuto) on how to clean or change Brother DCP J4110 Absorber box????

Hi, I did this instruction but now my printer don't take ink, I did more than 10 cleaning but it didn't help :(
How to get rid of the message “unable to print 51”
my printer keep saying my magenta ink need to change even though i change it twice, what do i do, i need to print my work
Try taking it to a cartridge shop: it may be an issue with the chip on the cartridge
I've had this problem because I dont print every week...that's why my laser printers never give me this problem.
I have unable to print 4F error mine is J100
Heth Mas It's probably the waste ink so try searching for 4f error and the model no

This only pertains to INKJET printers and to the MFC Laser printers. The title should be corrected.

Too bad the double echo in the room. Difficult to hear instructions
Is anyone else getting an echo? I've just double checked with a phone and desktop but could't reproduce the problem

This is not concise. Spends too much time on what it could be THEN gives instructions without telling you how to get to where you need to be.
