Awesome collab hunt! Congrats on that sweet first-year IHP which is the ‘fatty’ type, and a bit heavier than the post 1864 ones. Lots of cool relics coming out and that cigar container top is really neat! I’m wondering if the piece that was being pondered as part of a powder flask is a match safe. I’ve seen them dug before and kind of resembles the shape if my memory serves me correctly. Sweet 1812 half! If it is thin and lighter then it’s likely a Tiffin token. I thought I had an 1812 coin when I dug one but these were issued by a grocer in Montreal who had them minted and imported from the UK in the 1830’s. Since importation of coins were illegal, they were back dated and made to look like the Halliday tokens that were actually minted in 1812 and used in the UK before being taken out of circulation a few years after to be sent to the colonies. It would be heavier like a UK half penny of the time. The Tiffins became very widespread and numerous due to the extreme coin shortages and ended up all over Upper and Lower Canada.
