I think they have to in order to get each player time on the field. Players don't come to IMG and pay out a ton of $ to warm a bench. My bet is it's not done for any other reason than to give everyone playing time. That could be another reason IMG doesn't blow teams out by 5 or 6 scores. It's not about a W as much as it's about playing other great teams and getting HS players lots of time facing tough competition - all in preparation for playing NCAAF. Just my guess.
If IMG recruits you then you don't pay. Its like a scholarship. IMG doesn't just have sports teams that have your everyday students too. Those are the one's that pay. Players come there as freshman pay as well. Most of their recruits only come for their last two years and 9/10 they already have D1 offers. IMG is like playing JV D1 football during your redshirt year. You are going to train with the best get bigger stronger, faster, play the best in College and see if you can go from a 3 star guy to a 4 star guy or 4 to 5 stars. then a few enroll early in college or go back home for their last semester of HS thats how they go to prom & stuff. IMG is a boarding school so they can do a lot more than your everyday private school. Schools MD can take the best players in Cali when they are freshman and keep them together for 4 years so the just click naturally. IMG has 3 months to learn how to play together so they beat teams off of their pure talent. MD is a better team bc they been together longer but they have far less D1 players event tho 8 is a lot. IMG starting 24 including the kicker & punter go D1. Most schools are lucky to have 1 3 star player on their team. IMG has 13 4 star players think. Jr's & Sr's. Im not sure how number #44 got to play for 3 different schools in 3 years Its rules against transferring schools just to play sports but I guess since he played in 3 different states its nothing they can do to stop it
