What a great sermon!!!!Thank you Father!! P.S: Sometimes we can't hear what you are saying. I feel sad cos I know I am missing out on some important words or phrases. 3 Hail Mary for Sensus Fidelium saintly priests
Funny thing. Since we are nothing but animals according evolution, we are acting like animals in today's society. When society believed in a supernatural end, we acted like humans. Ineteresting distinct.
First off that's not true at all. Evolution is an established scientific fact backed up by evidence. Second when you dismiss things that you think are ridiculous as "religion" you show what you really think about religion
Jose Bonilla the church never taught that the earth was flat. We've known that the earth is round since before the Greek philosophers. Anyone can see that, as you walk away from a mountain that it disappears from the bottom up. And the church has no infallible teaching on questions of science or art; so catholics are free to accept some types of evolution or not.
Keith, you are mistaken: In 1215, the Fourth Lateran Council solemnly proclaimed: “Firmly we believe and we confess simply that the true God […] by His own omnipotent power at once from the beginning of time created each creature from nothing, spiritual and corporal […]” (DZ 428) The Provincial Council of Cologne (1860) made the following pronouncement one year after the appearance of Darwin’s “On the Origin of the Species” (1859): “Our first parents were formed immediately by God. Therefore we declare that the opinion of those who do not fear to assert that this human being, man as regards his body, emerged finally from the spontaneous continuous change of imperfect nature to the more perfect, is clearly opposed to Sacred Scripture and to the Faith.” Nine years later, the First Vatican Council (1869-1870), quoting the Fourth Lateran Council (1215), taught the following: “This sole true God ‘immediately from the beginning of time fashioned each creature out of nothing, spiritual and corporeal’ […]” (DZ 1783) The accompanying anathema reads as follows: “If anyone does not confess that the world and all things which are contained in it, both spiritual and material, as regards their whole substance, have been produced by God from nothing […] let him be anathema.” (DZ 1805)
“Usually, even a non-Christian knows something about the earth, the heavens, and the other elements of this world, about the motion and orbit of the stars and even their size and relative positions, about the predictable eclipses of the sun and moon, the cycles of the years and the seasons, about the kinds of animals, shrubs, stones, and so forth, and this knowledge he hold to as being certain from reason and experience. Now, it is a disgraceful and dangerous thing for an infidel to hear a Christian, presumably giving the meaning of Holy Scripture, talking nonsense on these topics; and we should take all means to prevent such an embarrassing situation, in which people show up vast ignorance in a Christian and laugh it to scorn. The shame is not so much that an ignorant individual is derided, but that people outside the household of faith think our sacred writers held such opinions, and, to the great loss of those for whose salvation we toil, the writers of our Scripture are criticized and rejected as unlearned men. If they find a Christian mistaken in a field which they themselves know well and hear him maintaining his foolish opinions about our books, how are they going to believe those books in matters concerning the resurrection of the dead, the hope of eternal life, and the kingdom of heaven, when they think their pages are full of falsehoods and on facts which they themselves have learnt from experience and the light of reason? Reckless and incompetent expounders of Holy Scripture bring untold trouble and sorrow on their wiser brethren when they are caught in one of their mischievous false opinions and are taken to task by those who are not bound by the authority of our sacred books. For then, to defend their utterly foolish and obviously untrue statements, they will try to call upon Holy Scripture for proof and even recite from memory many passages which they think support their position, although they understand neither what they say nor the things about which they make assertion. [1 Timothy 1.7]” - St. Augustine
Drew this is precisely why you need to become better informed on the science that refutes evolution. The preponderance of the evidence is in favor of special creation. The fact that you do not know this implies your shallow research in this area. Read Darwin’s Black Box and then get back to me with a better informed opinion. I also highly recommend the book “The Doctrines of Genesis 1-11” by Father Victor Warkulwiz. Fr. Warkulwiz is one of the most learned men of our generation, Ph.D in physics, M.A. in theology, plus other degrees, and ordained priest.
"the science that refutes evolution" Ridiculous there is no such thing! There are only scientifically illiterate idiots who do not even understand the basics of evolution! Evolution has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt and is supported by actual observable evidence unlike that book of fairy tales you cling to.
Why are you against evolution when the Catechism says evolution is compatible? God created everything, and he created Adam and Eve. There's nothing in evolution that goes against Catholicism. God still created souls and created everything. The Nicene Creed says nothing about a young earth or evolution
This kind of subjective manure is the result of philosophy being a persons academic foundation. I pray the church makes a drastic change in the priestly formation and let real science be the foundation for thological studies and spare them of three years of philosophical hokum.
The way of thinking you display is a destroyer of tradition, believing whatever happens to be currently popular to be real science that the church should bow down to.
I sincerely hope to be able to be of any kind of assistance to get rid of bad traditions in favor for better ones. But you are dead wrong assuming I base my opinions on subjective flunkiness or popular science. I value cold hard objectivity more than anything else. May I ask why you value tradition so high? What if the tradition is based on an error? Are you willing to abandon that tradition then?
Words of advice dear Jamie. The academic tradition is strong in the catholic church. And in academia debate and allowing different opinions have been held in high regard. So you trying to hush me up with that silly attitude of yours reflects quite badly upon you.
It is not up to us to be judging traditions and choosing between them according to our likings, let alone creating new ones to replace the correct ones. If, as you say, you value cold hard objectivity even more than you value God it may have hardened also your heart. Trust in tradition is a matter of faith.
All members of christ's body are of course called to actively participate in the development of the church. That fact does not in any way shape or form reduce the authority of the magisterium. They are to make the decisions in the matters. But to present the facts the magisterium needs to make the decision is the responsibility of all of us. According to your reasoning the church should still hold on to the tradition of the geocentric model of the solar system despite the fact that it is erronous. But hey it's tradition right?
Fantastic sermon. Best thing one can do is please pray for this priest.
Kudos to this priest who preached creation against the religion of evolution. As he said: an icon from hell.
Great video

I started listening on ear buds for privacy, and found that I can hear the father's words far more clearly. Worth a try.
Thanks again for this, Sensus Fidelium. Keep the good work coming.
What is this priest name ?
GOD BLESS you

We have the artwork of creation yet don't recognise the need for an artist.
if it's artwork then it sure is pretty half-assed
Unclenate1000
Well you can tell the artist at your particular judgement
Excellent
This priest is a great homilist but lately he is getting harder to hear. He sounds very muffled and somewhat unclear.
"Evolution is not science, but it is a false religion!" I think there is no better way to describe the evolution deception than the above quote.
First off that's not true at all. Evolution is an established scientific fact backed up by evidence. Second when you dismiss things that you think are ridiculous as "religion" you show what you really think about religion
There is a difference between evolution science and evolutionism which is a religion.
Flat Earth?

Keith P I think that the Earth may be flat.
Dana Duttle What? I think you enjoy fake news.
Keith, you are mistaken:

Who cares? I don’t know if it’s flat but surely not a flying ball in space

Btw, Darwinianism is outdated, but there are new and more accurate models of evolution
