I just want to let you know you are so beautiful. I think everyone that grows beautiful flowers are beautiful from inside and outside. Thanks for this wonderful video.
Oh Danielle this video was so helpful. I Love,Love, Love flower arrangements. Especially ones from my Garden. I must try to get the Everlastings book. I have dried mine hanging them up to dry and in a bucket with a little water. Both ways have worked for me. Thank you for all this wonderful information. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed day and stay safe my dear and Special Friend. 💚🌻🦋
Hi Danielle. Would you consider doing a video on how you take clippings and start new plants from your Mexican bush sage? This is a great video, as all of yours are. 😊🌼
I love dried arrangements. My husband and I went on a dried wildflower walk, some would say just weed picking., LOL. Then I assembled the most beautiful arrangement using the dark brown seed pods with dark stems in a muted pink vase that I found at a local thrift store. Soooo a gorgeous arrangement thanks to mother natures bounty and a little poking around at the thrift store......very satisfying!!!! I never thought of being an artist with ones medium as dried flowers, quite a lightbulb moment for me. Thanks for sharing the art.
Hello from Nova Scotia! Just found your channel after placing some cut flowers and foliage in a heavy book like my grandmother always did! Looking forward to seeing more of your garden. Thanks for sharing!
What a timely video as I am just getting interested in preserving flowers from my first year of cut flower gardening! I loved this video but would have liked to also see some close ups of each flower as you talked about it.
Gosh I was just going to say how I have Autumn Joy sedum in an arrangement with Little Quick fire hydrangea on my kitchen table and how I love it. Whew! I just checked for aphids and they look okay. I never put the sedum or hydrangeas in water, just cut them and put them in a vase to dry on their own a few wks ago. I guess I am lucky. Love the larkspur and Mexican bush sage.
Great tip at the end about how to dry the flowers to keep them from being straight… I’m going to purchase the special book from Amazon that you talked about for drying flowers. I love how your grandmother has influence to you and how proud you are of her I love listening to all the stories… Thanks for sharing everything with us!
I just got the book, Everlastings, after watching your video. Loving it! It's given me a new direction for my flower beds. Another reason to yearn for spring! Thank you for always inspiring me with something new. Strawflowers are definitely at the top of my list. They are so expensive to buy online, so I'm looking forward to growing my own stores for crafting.
Wonderful video! You really made flower drying come to life. Appreciated all the tips including things that didn’t work out. Also liked hearing about your grandmother’s artistry and the book reco’s. Thanks!!!
Love this, thank you! You have really helped expand my gardening thoughts and helped me think outside of my “gardening box.” ☺️ I’m trying to add more and more things for cut flowers. Also, I need to stop at Rohrer Seed. We’ve passed it a hundred times, we come in to Lancaster county that way. Thanks again and “happy gardening” 💚👩🏼🌾
Thank you, Danielle for another wonderful, inspirational video! I'm growing many of the flowers you mentioned and plan to plant some the cool flowers this fall for a spring harvest. Thanks also for the book recommendations!
I have been enjoying drying flowers so much! I've been treating myself to Trader Joe's (DIY arrangements) and then drying them. I've always believed in reusing my flowers! I've been posting on Instagram, and having so much fun! One question I have for you is - do you apply anything to the dried flowers to further preserve them? I have not done so, but some are so delicate I think it would be helpful. My dried seeded eucalyptus is beautiful but you can barely touch it with out the seeds shedding .... Lovely video - watching now!
Hi Rachel! I dont spray mine with anything. I recall hearing eucalyptus is best used immediately. In other words- arrange with it fresh and let it dry in place. I believe silver dollar is the most reliable dried. I hope that helps!
Thank you so much for sharing all your tips. I too love growing Mexican sage, I was able to buy a few plants this year after several years of not being able to find it in zone 7 New Jersey. I was wondering did you ever grow it from seed and if you only grow from cuttings do you use rooting hormone thanks again
Hey, I cut some hydrangeas blooms (Endless Summer's "Original" variety.. grows on old wood) that had beautiful fall color. They felt somewhat dry on the bush. I didn't put them in water. They turned brown. I'm not sure what I did wrong. Was I supposed to keep them in water or hang them upside down or leave them on the bush or is there nothing I can do to keep that color in this variety? I'm so bummed, because I waited so long to cut them. We were about to have frost. Now I have to wait a whole year to get those blooms again 😢. Your expertise would be greatly appreciated. On happier note, I bought the book "EVERLASTINGS" by Bex Partridge. I have just started reading it but the pictures and inspiration are worth the price of the book without reading it. 😂
Hey Vanessa! I am so sorry to hear that. It sounds like you did everything right. The first thing I think of is - any chance the heads were wet when you picked them? Even with just early morning dew? That may have caused the browning.
Or just ridiculous we’re eating this summer bug laden in general and it just kills me because I love how beautiful they are especially in the summer and fall. I didn’t spray that but I think this year I might have to in order to be able to use them in bouquet. If you have another option that might work please tell me because I’d like to spray as little as possible even though I do use an organic spray If I would really need it
Hi Vanessa! I cleaned all my racks with a mixer of water, dawn, and hydrogen peroxide. The next day I spray and wiped everything again with a water/peroxide mix.
I just want to let you know you are so beautiful. I think everyone that grows beautiful flowers are beautiful from inside and outside. Thanks for this wonderful video.

Very good video and thank you for sharing the books and you experiences.. 🙂
I discovered dried okra this year. They dry tan with black strips. So cool in even fresh flower bouquets.
You should show closeups of the flowers. They look great far away but it would be nice to see the colors in detail
Very interesting, I love to dry lavender and hydrangeas and look for other flowers that dry well! Thank you!

Very informative! Thank you 😊
I'm interested in growing the Mexican bush sage. I'm zone 5-6. Where can you get it and how do you propagate it year to year?
Hello Danielle!!! Watching from Alaska :)
Hi Sharon!
Hi Debbie! I'm glad you could find some this year! I've only grown it from cuttings. I do use rooting hormone.
How do you dry your gomphrena? I grew these for the first time and have fallen in love with them.
Nice Video!

@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens yes they may have been. I watered them right before I cut the blooms.
So full of information!

What Is the bright fuchsia purple one at the bottom hanging over the box between the straw flowers and love in a mist pods?
It is QIS Gomphrena purple. Other colors are available too
Is it possible to dry dusty miller?
I’ve just watched your wreath video 😊
What are your thoughts on silica gel? I def want to experiment with it
Why do my dried hydrangea loose their little flowers after they dry. Should I spray them with something?
How do you keep the bugs that destroy plants off your plants???
Hi Danielle, watching from Indonesia x
Hi garden friend!
Are those the chairs your husband re-purposed someone was getting rid of? Am I remembering that correctly
Yes that's them!
When you say you sterilized the room after the aphid outbreak, what exactly is that process?
Hi Vanessa! I cleaned all my racks with a mixer of water, dawn, and hydrogen peroxide. The next day I spray and wiped everything again with a water/peroxide mix.
If that was your grandmother in that photo then you look exactly like her!
Have you dried zinnias?
I heard garlic dries well.
Close ups needed
Close ups of the flowers would help.
Wake up camera person!
Salvia does not smell good to me.
