I can't imagine step sequencing ever being topped for EDM drum programming. The ease of use is why I still use FL Studio just for beats a lot. It does it SO well.
Found it-Thank you-Needed to delete the tracks, and restart ST1. You should inform people that clicking on Impact XT several times causes the application to give you "All kits", and renders the "drum stick" unavailable. Thanks for your videos-a little clarification is needed on this for us new guys struggling with Home Recording.

Is there a way to add effects to programmed drum beats? The thing I'm working on won't work at all unless the drums have a lot of reverb. I can export the stems, load them back in and apply the effects then but that's no ideal for monitoring.
Well when I play the guitar and put a sloppy rhythm down, that’s when I use xt Tom beirxhling something drum set, turn up each one from the bass drum to the hi hats and match my guitar or whatever, then I set the beat for the first count, so instead of continuing with the step record I need to see what to do to then repeat that section say 4 or 5 times, sometimes maybe 6 before I change rhythms then do another 4 or 5 then switch again. Does that help make sense?
the way patterns are inserted is far from elegant and we need a timing offset parameter alongside velocity etc. Velocity slopes / ramps would be cool as well
So how do you get that piano roll when you clicked on the impact thing? I dont have that at the bottom when I click on it. Might help to explain this from a default setting because I'm totally lost.

None of you guys show how you actually get this stuff set up, it is enraging for people trying to figure out how to get this to work. "Now i just highlight this, double click it" (doesn't stay open for me to double click), "And i've already got my editor expanded". So did you open the editor first and then make the track and add impact? i just dont get it man. been at this for hours. And how did you get that MIDI keyboard set up vertically in the editing section? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Daniel you need to add a virtual instrument to a track first. Then you click on that track to highlight it, then click edit in the bottom right corner and the editor will pop open.
Can you "stretch" triplet patterns to fit say 1/16 to 1/16T on individual instrument AND other patterns. I can't seem to figure it out, I only can get close by alternating the steps from like 64 to 100, but a stretching function would be nice ;-) I like to alter between eight note to triplet feel for a second lining effect ;-)
hi, if a vst has a drum map different from the GM and this vst does not allow you to modify it, is it possible to do it from studio one? As far as I know, it's not possible, maybe I'm wrong. With Cubase it is possible to do it. thank you
OBEDIA no, for example in Cakewalk you go to a MIDI track and right click, there's an option as convert to drum pattern or You use pattern to create drum sequence then right click and convert to MIDI, but I've learned from somewhere else that converting drum pattern to std. midi is available but not the contrary.

Is there a way to use Pattern Editor on midi after "Exploding" notes to tracks? Reason I ask is often times I want to do a little bit of external side chaining afterwards to pull down bass track when the kick hits. I've done this just using midi loops and so on, but I'd like to take it a step up a bit and create my own patterns, then make full use of Studio One's other processing. (things like the above and FX Insert in inspector and so on... ????
Not that we know of, but this would be a useful feature, being able to bring MIDI directly into the pattern editor. That would be a candidate for a suggestion as a feature.
I have however, found a work around method. I have some very good midi loop libraries that I can load into Impact or MT Power. Which means I can use the pattern editor to create it. The discipline though is to make CERTAIN I've got all my patterns exactly the way I want them to sit and then use the S1 feature called turn pattern into part. Cannot undo that once done, but as long as the Impact or whatever drum kit has the sounds I'm seeking, it will work that way. Once it's set I can then "Explode the midi notes to tracks and then bunce to audio and use the mixing features of S1 to do refined editing and mixing. kind of the long way around but gets really good results as long as I make certain beforehand that the patterns I create and the drum tones I want are correctly placed. But you are right...at the moment once cannot convert midi to patterns.

Just set your time signature and it will adjust.
