Hi Karue, I really enjoy your content and find it really useful! This video was especially more helpful and I hope you make more videos like this one where the video shows off good drills that we can add to our own practice routine! You’re doing a phenomenal job with your videos, keep up the good work!👏👍 -Boyz
The Comments are terrific here as they capture the enthusiasm for YOUR enthusiasm, and also that acknowledgement of just how much you can learn from watching skilled practitioners working to groove their strokes. Also, your commentary - front and back - is wonderful and adds a lot. Finally, I really, really appreciate your shoutout to the Mini Tennis ritual at the start. Complete and utter agreement.
Best practice video on TH-cam bar none. Watching her hit those rockets in the mid court deep ball drill/game is mesmerizing. She started out missing 4 balls long, adjusted and worked her way into the game before scoring 6 points in 2 minutes Stef Curry style. This tenacity and ability to problem solve dynamically also allowed her to win last year's USOpen, after she was blown off the court by Vika in the 1st and down a break to start the 2nd. This is the mark of a true champion. I would say good luck at the AO, but maybe tis more apropos to wish her opponents luck.
I love this commentary. It really tells me what's going on and what your doing more in depth. Love to see you guys working on and working with Naomi and getting her ready to win the AO!!!
This is fantastic content. I can really learn a lot from your guys' approach to practice. It really makes me want to get on court myself and start hitting and developing my game further. Great hitting and insight, thanks!
Absolutely loving this! This is so cool to watch, Krue! Thanks for cutting this together and to Naomi for allowing you to share this. Goddamn, can she bang. Seeing it on TV is one thing, but at this angle, another world (you’re no slouch either, my brother). Loving the channel!
Great hitting and thanks again for sharing. Naomi's team is lucky to have you on board as her hitting partner. I am sure you are grateful, but you are making her better. Looks like she has an amazing team. Good luck in Australia! We will be watching for you and cheering on our fellow Canadians.
Thank you for posting such hard-to-find content! So fun to see practice between players with such wonderful 2H backhands. I hope this channel continues to grow, Karue! Good luck at the AO, I hope Team Osaka takes home the trophy!
Wow this video makes me admire so much more Naomi, incredible player. Feels impressive how much control she have on both sides and in the same time huge powerfull shots, amazing player to watch and learn from !
👍👌great instructional video . I always struggled with my backhand that just recently learned to become ambidextrous to focus the use of the dominant arm follow through. The foot turn has also helped . thank you
Loved this Vid! Surprised I haven't come across your channel until now. You've given me lots of practice ideas/games to do with my friends. Usually we just rally to warm up, play & try to improve as we play (we're amateurs haha), but obviously since we're more focused on the game and "winning" we don't get to focus on techniques and other things you mentioned. You've definitely switched on a light for me. Many thanks & keep it up. I'll be going through your older vids in the mean time :D
When I hit with our club Pro we do exactly what you guys do in the mini tennis. Then we start cross-court forward to each other. Backhand crosscourt. Down the middle. Then we play live points for 30 mens (a set) I feel I get a really good warm-up and can groove my strokes. Then playing a set against a ITA player really helps my game when I play matches.
Karue (and Naomi) - Thanks so much! For us tennis fanatics out here working on our own games, we wonder what a "day at the office" is like for the pros. Absolutely enjoyed this and your other videos.
Just watching this type of hitting with with Naomi and previously with Marcus - the relaxed 'snapping' of the stroke into the balls at contact, I can actually feel the inside of my body wanting to replicate that with the hips and legs unloading as the relaxed arm gets pulled into this whipping zone. I think as rec players, we don't see it, don't hear it, and then don't replicate it. This is beautiful to watch and be quiet and just listen to.
Hey Karue...thru your tips I have finally started to hit topspin during mini tennis rather than my chip forehand cuz I couldn't control my topspin...big thanks!!...also, slice mini tennis is so fun and great wsrmup as it gets a sweat going...lastly, I made a few more amazon purchases...:)...thank you, be healthy and great luck with team at AO.
Love these videos! Not because you’re hitting with Naomi, but to hear your tips and thoughts with the voice over! Very insightful for players of all skills
Really refreshing content. Not the same old stuff, and not just because you are a much higher level player than most out there, but because of your commentary, your openness in sharing what you know. I find that (being a relatively high level player myself, not a pro) as one improves in tennis there's a certain level of secrecy- be it for whatever reason- around the more minute details of the game. Obviously, the information is out there, but it seems that it can be hard to find, and that it is not openly shared to all. Thanks for making this channel. Also, I really liked the drills in this video, never seen them before, I'll give them a shot!
Warm up: sometimes we play Rip-Chip-Drop. Coop drill. Service line to service line. First player chips in a ball , the second player “rips” a semi hard ball that the incoming first player must “drop”, the second player must now start the cycle again with a chip, etc. Love your videos!!!!
Excellent hitting with one of the best on the planet and very helpful tips that I will implement in my practice as I work with my coach and my hitting partners. I like how you said don’t be a “stiff” out there on the practice court, have fun and try new things even if you make a mistake. I notice how Federer does this such as mixing in a two-handed backhand in practice. Thanks for all that you do for us as tennis players!
A great set of tennis shots as a warm up and with the games can be a full tennis lesson also like the thought that you accept the mistake and make an adjustment rather than getting down on yourself
Hi Karue, greetings from Malaysia! Came across this comment sometime ago and I was hoping you could shed some light on: 1. Typical training split for the day/week 2. How do players train during off season vs between tournaments 3. How does the training differ from one player to the other. Thank you very much for all that you do!
Hey, it's amazing that you are sharing this. Thanks so much, how cool of Naomi too to be open to it. Really helpful to us who want to improve our playing. Thanks!
amazing video!! ,Thanks a lot for your videos and training strategy. Please say thanks to Naomi because is almost impossible to find a pro player sharing videos of training. For sure will be No. 1 really soon!
Hey! New to the channel but I love this content. Question: As a hitting partner for one of the world's best tennis player, do you get nervous, anxious or embarrassed when you make errors during practice? When I'm hitting against other club players who are more consistent than me, I get embarrassed because I feel like I need to impress them by matching their ability. Thanks!
Also on top of everything love to see her playing against a really strong player. A man really, seeing that she can take any ball you give her gives me more confidence that she is going to do better in the future working with you and fissetie! Good job guys and tell Naomi I said Goodluck at the AO!!
Got to be a great experience gleaning coaching and conversations from Wim as well. Cheers and thanks for sharing this. And thanks to the Osaka team for their parts.
I agree with your philosophy about creating competitive situations even if it's not full set or match play. My playing partners and I started incorporating some mini-games like these and we've improved a lot in the last year
Once again, you have smashed it dude! I like a lot of the commentary about having purpose with practice. I feel a lot of players fail to have that which is part of the reason they do not see improvements. I will definitely share this with my students! Keep up the good work!
i love this content, you explain what is going on and seeing how a pro dose practice really helps, i feel like you make your practices enjoyable and that helps you develop your game more, most practices i see are just drills and that gets old if that is all your see. Keep up the good work!!!
Big up from France man ! Your Channel helps me a lot to improve my tennis knowledge, as a future tennis Coach , your advices are gold, thank's a lot for that ! Keep going 🔥🔥
Yes go mini tennis ❤️ If tennis where to be only on mini tennis courts and no serving I feel I could've had a shot at the Pro tour. Totally fits my game and it lacks all the aspects that make up my weaker points (Serving, power, injury proneness etc). Unfortunately in my days there was no padel yet ;)
Love these videos and much appreciated for posting them. From this observation, Vcore 98 certainly looks a tad sluggish vs 95 and I think you get a little more leverage from the 95 so your balls seem heavier and with more spin ... I can certainly see why you opted for the 95 as your preferred racquet. PS. Have you ever tested out Naomi's custom racquet?
Great session and thank you for sharing unedited ...it’s a very well structured session and useful for training purposes instead of hitting balls with no purpose for hours! 👏 👏 Quick question - did you move to a Vcore 98 from the Ezone tour? How do you find the new Vcore 98 2021 and did you use lead tape?
As always great content and thank you for sharing her training session. Very compassionate when she says sorry. What an awesome boss. Great drills and competitive games. -Working on directional control and consistency to minimize unforced errors and raise your shot tolerance. What most of us mortals need to focus on. Why the 98 and not the 95 during the session?
Sensational video - terrific tips and commentary. I can only dream of hitting at max about 50% intensity and consistency as you. Loving River the Aussidoodle hanging around in the background ❤️. Are you travelling to Aus with Naomi? If so, will look out for you in Melbourne....
I've watched a couple of other videos of Naomi Osaka training, and I was astonished by how extensive her warm-ups are before she even picks up the racket. She throws a football, dynamic warm-up, mobility work, prehab, medicine balls, bands, then, even when she finally picks up the racket, she goes thru another whole warm-up routine with the racket - first hitting in place, then slowly building up until she's hitting with full power and running around. Is this type of extensive warm-up typical of all pros?
When she's in practice, you seen the work, I wonder why she's in this losing slump right now? I hope it turns around for her bc she's a really great player.
Really enjoy your hitting videos and equipment reviews. I like the angle you film your hitting sessions from. You mentioned you use your phone for filming. Could you post a picture or link to the equipment you use to hold your phone safely....tripod or whatever? I would like to film my practice sessions without breaking my phone, cheers!
Any footage with you hitting is welcomed! I contribute to Talk Tennis and it seems those on the forum also appreciate your content. Keep up the great work! Future ideas Money Matches between friends with mics on.
Fantastic hitting, your shots are so good, both forehand and backhand, your videos help a lot. What do you suggest for an adult player (32 years) who started taking classes, how can he make progress without spending too much on classes for months? I live in Cali, and I am paying $60 for an hour session.
Hi Karue, do you know of some exercises to improve my quickness and also my coordination and focus between my eyes and hand? I saw a player, in an ATP tournament, do these exercises with a coach, before going on the court. He only used a tennis ball. I think they were warming up. Do you have a video about it?
Hey man! Loved the video. I have a quick question about your warmup where you said that you "didn't hit any winners." I'm struggling to understand the concept behind this. Can you elaborate more on why "winner" shots are not ideal always? Thanks!
Karue, love the content! It’s awesome to see you work with Naomi and give us all an inside look to what the pros do on a daily basis. I hope you are willing to a small suggestion. When you play the games with Naomi, consider putting a small scoreboard in the corner of the video. I think it’d be easy for the viewer and better for following. I understand this may take more time for editing so also understand if you should choose to go without it. Just something you may not have thought of! Love the content, as always. Cheers.
Hey Karue, More than anything else, really enjoy seeing things "from the inside". There are many great players, and I've been watching tennis for 30 years; it's rare to get this kind of insight, and especially from someone at the top of the game, which makes it ever more appreciated. Thank you so much for this. One question I have for you though, and an observation I have about other players first. I see players like Iga playing very strategically (angles, drop shots, lobs), but who are not quite as good technically in terms of pure ball striking. I see other players who are tremendous ball strikers, but not so strategic. If you could choose a type of player to work with (strategically excellent + average ball striker vs excellent ball striker + average strategically), which would it be, and why?
Appreciate the support. That is a great question and honestly there is no right answer here. I think each individual is so unique on how they find ways to win. For example, I would consider myself more of an Iga than Naomi in terms of being more strategical with my game plan than purely overpowering someone so in that sense it would be “easier” to coach iga. But I think it all comes down to the player mindset. Finding someone who wants to improve, loves the work and enjoys the process. That would be the most important
Hey karue- what would you recommend I string my ezone98 (string and tension) at? (I’m a 16 y/o 5.5 who likes spin and power) any help would be appreciated:)))
I mean you have to string with what feels comfortable to you. You control your gear! First think about what you need from it (more power, more control) then go from there

Hey man! Loved the video. I have a quick question about your warmup where you said that you "didn't hit any winners." I'm struggling to understand the concept behind this. Can you elaborate more on why "winner" shots are not ideal always? Thanks!
really enjoyed your post! hitting sound is so sweet :)
Cheers.
Appreciate it
Hey Karue,
More than anything else, really enjoy seeing things "from the inside".
First think about what you need from it (more power, more control) then go from there
@@KaruesellHQ Ok thank you !
Hi Karue
What would be the three most important things in your opinion to be able to hit the ball cleanly?
Thanks
