DRIVING THROUGH FILOTI NAXOS

One of the most famous and beautiful villages on Naxos is Filoti in the Tragea region, which is famous for its olive groves and small Byzantine churches, both of which are also found in the village. Philoti's name is ancient and is believed to be of Ionian origin.
The population is around 1,800, making it the largest village on Naxos and the Cyclades in general. The village is 18 km from the capital Naxos. It is a traditional Cycladic village located on the slopes of Mount Zas, with whitewashed houses with flat roofs and narrow streets.
