Carnations aren't cheap and neither are you

In this video, I am blissfully cutting carnations while defending their honor and accidentally opening an existential dialogue. Carnations are 'cheap' if one compares the price of a bunch of them to the price of a bunch of orchids ... if the 'cheap' is meant convey 'low class' etc. that might be because they are available many places & they last ... not so posh they need to be replaced every other day ... carnations ... a flower for the masses!

Oh I loved every second of this. Everything you said is so true. When you said that we can't all be an orchid, it reminded me of the phrase, "Are you an orchid or a dandelion?" Now I want to answer that with, "I am a carnation! I can flourish anywhere so long as you respect and care for me, so that I know I can respect and care for myself."
