    Over the next two weeks I'll be traveling to four different Hilton properties in four different countries to show you the different travel hacks and methods I used to book all of these stays for a grand total of $0 so that you can book properties just like these all around the world using miles and points.

    That American Express Surpass Hilton card is now up to $150 annual fee and $3,000 in purchases to get that 130,000 points.
    At least that's what I found.

    The Venture X has a $395 annual fee, so you have to pay $395 to get the $300 travel credit you mention here. Calling that "free" seems a bit disingenuous. I'm a big believer in rewards points, and I have the Venture X, but people saying that they travel for "free" using points is a pet peeve of mine. Is there a ton of value to be had with rewards? Absolutely! Is it free? Nope

    • @ryanccc777
      @ryanccc777 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally agree, it is more like you are prepaying the $300 then getting it back in the form of a coupon as you are not getting $300 for “free”.

      You also get 10,000 mile every card anniversary, which is valued at $100 minimum.
      Do your research before you through accusations like that.

    Although not free, I have found it can often pencil out to purchase points when there is a promotion. Since paying with points also covers resort fees and taxes, it can save a lot.

    I would like to see someone use the welcome bonus and some additional points added to book a 4 night award stay and get the 5th night free. That perk along with gold status seems to be major for that Hilton card.

      Idk how much a travel "influencer" actually stays 5 nights in a single hotel. They're usually hopping between different hotels and cities.

    What doea Hilton Gold give you, and do you still get those benefits when booking through a travel portal like Capital One? Pretty sure IHG doesn't honor your status when booking through a 3rd party, just wondering if Hilton is different.

    • @LK_EBM
      @LK_EBM 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope. Hilton won't honor your Gold benefits (mainly free breakfast)

    Love the bonus but 300 per night hotel?? No max value possible? Seems waste of points after all that effort...

    Travel credit is your own money that you “prepaid” so it is not free 😂

      You don’t get it. The whole point is not to buy more than you would otherwise buy, but simply run every dollar possible through a rewards card.

    • @lightdark00
      @lightdark00 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@squiggy8110 I understand that, But I treat points as accrued cash, so using it is a cost to me.

      If you are going to spend, say, $1,000 on certain monthly purchases anyway then put them on the card to get the points and pay the $1,000 when it's due. The key is NOT to spend that $1,000 in the bank meant for the card on anything else. Money management is still the key here.

    • @mommy2cody6
      @mommy2cody6 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You need to do some more research on points. I use my card for my everyday purchases. Everything from gas, groceries, household and even as many bills as possible. My card is set up for auto pay. The card is paid off monthly automatically. Not only am I earning a ton of points my credit score has risen DRAMATICALLY. Do some research and see if this is something that would work for you.

      @@mommy2cody6 I do the same thing, but my expenses are low and I have cash back cards.
