Mollayo Mollayo You are correct. Jimmy Fallon himself posted a video explaining this. He said they did it 4 times and the one chosen to be broadcasted was the 2nd take. According to New York Times, they started filming from 12.30 am and finished at about 4 am. The filming was done on Feb 8 and the filming for subway olympics and katz deli was done 2 days later.

jimmy said they sneaked into the terminal at 2 am and came out at 4 am and that they filmed the performance 2-4 times and most of the footage used was from the second time. imagine how tired they mustve been performing THAT 4 times and giving it their all in all 4- wow
It's been reported that they were snuck in around midnight and kept in a hidden terminal where they could practice.

Goddd same jungkook just makes me laugh alot and i can see that the members love hanging out with him. Jinkook are literally the cutest 😭❤
They did the choreo 3-4 times and one of the back up dancers had to stay in bed for about 3-5 days just to recover. BTS go practically non-stop during their concerts dancing and singing live, so you can imagine the stamina these guys have - like long distance marathoners. I heard this was the last take, so they were probably worn out by then since this choreo is hardcore. By the way, they sound better live compared to their studio recordings.
They were able to access the station during closed business hours between 2 to 5am I believe. They did the performance 3 or 4 times until they liked the last one that we all watched. It is the reason why they are exhausted.
It was between 2 and 4,bc after that workers had to clean the terminals, etc.And it reopened at 5 am
I don't know if you guys have difficulty pronouncing the name jungkook or not, but if you do, you can call him JK (Jeikei) because of BTS, JK himself and most people call him like that. Tks for your reaction
I think because it’s such a huge building and sound bounces off the walls, you can barely hear their voices which is causing them to work harder by yelling through the MICs singing and rapping so you’re able to hear their voices.....you can see & hear its live with difference between their voices especially during their solo parts but allot of people are going to say they only hear the back track since it’s extremely loud.
If you listen to this with headphones, you can definitely tell it's live.

Did you know that jimmy said they actually recorded this performance about three or four times! That’s why they are hella exhausted at the end but it’s still super impressive how they gave it the same power with their dance moves and also managed to keep the stability in their voices. That’s talent right there!

Jimmy Fallon the host said on Twitter that they performed it about 4 times and that was #2. They were nowhere near done. BTS is singing about themselves when Jungkook says 'all that I know is going on and on and on'. They have told fans - long after the fact of course - that various members have collapsed from sheer exhaustion. And we have seen them practically holding each other up on stage because they are so committed to giving their best. Jungkook and Jimin have been injured and unable to dance in shows and they sat on stage and wept while the other members danced. They are crazy.

Yes, I'd like to add JK does have an extremely stable voice with all that dancing. He is very physically fit with full blown abs and he works tirelessly to perfect his voice while dancing. He once said he was so frustrated from his voice cracking while dancing that he started practicing the songs on a treadmill. *gotta appreciate that kind of dedication*

They filmed four rounds from 2-4 am in the morning and they took the second record as the best one. Thank you for your reaction. BTS choreography is always powerful and energetic. I sense the power from BTS making me feel like I can do anything in life. I gave you some example about running 10K first time last year. I trained a short period of time and not really so sure that i could make it in the time I expected. While I was running, once there were times I wanted to stop, I was thinking about how BTS did the dance practice. It’s weird though I got the power and I finished in an hour. It’s beyond my expectation. I can’t believe how much BTS impact my life in a great way. Once you started digging more inf about BTS, you would see and feel as most of Army does.

They actually did 3 takes to get the perfect angle! Jimmy said when he actually hugged the guys he can feel their heartbeats from the their backs. Some of the backup dancers are from The Lab hailing from Philippines, i think, Junior champs of World Dance show by JLo.

Actually if you see the behind the scenes. They performed it 3-4 times in a span of 2 hours to get the camera work perfect for the one take.

Its one take. BTS asked to redo this performance 3-4x and in the final try they still give 100%. Each member is a perfectionist & they hate messing up and only want to give ARMY the best. They're sound amazing live & I can't ever find a difference from their studio version except for a little breathing. They put in endless amount of practice 10-16hrs/day & even sing while running on a treadmill. Please
watch the documentary of ON. It will give you a behind the scenes of all the work that went into this album. Every BTS member writes & produces their music along with their inhouse producers. But since they tend to incorporate & blend many forms of art & music genres into their music they are always experimenting. With this ON documentary it will give you an appreciation of all the hard work that went into this album. I love how BTS interviewed all the live musicians & gospel choir who were a part of this album & let them have their shine on.

Thanks guys! It's cool you're making an effort to really know them, personally I've found there's a lot one can learn from them as people (not just musicians) to better one's own life.
A suggestion: maybe you can consider offering different price tiers for your Patreon. E.g. for $1 a month you get access to a number of videos, for $3 to more videos, etc. or something like tt. To viewers from countries like India etc. $5USD a month is a lot in their currency. Sometimes it's what an entire family survives on in a month. Just a thought, it's your choice ofc.

the one you watched of this song when they were outside, that one was filmed in California and it took them 3 days to film that MV
They all performed this 3 or 4 times, then Fallon's crew edited the best takes into the video. James said most of the recording here is from the second time they performed. They are singing live, but there is a back up track and there must be some production because the vocals on this song are supposed to have some effects, notably the reverb on Kookie's solo. (Also, sounds usually get more lost on such a huge space not made for performances, Idk how much mics help to contrast that.)

I love them so much. They did so well. I'm so proud of all of them. Also, I am so proud of Jungkook. I was so nervous before the performance. Like I knew he's good, he always was. But I was still nervous before he did the high notes.
And actually, they had to film this three or four times. Jimmy said so. He couldn't believe they were able to do this shit so many times in a row. He said that while he hugged V he could feel his heart beating through his back.
I hope you guys will react to the album. All the songs are bomb. My faves are Louder than bombs, My time - Jungkook solo( can't wait to hear that life. It's a really tough song, really hard to sing. It's a style I wasn't familiar with that's why I had to hear it at least five times in a row and now it became my favorite song from all time lol.) and We are bulletproof

Jimmy mentioned they closed of the terminal around 2-4am and BTS performed the whole routine 3-4x to get the perfect shots but the one shown in the jimmy fallon was almost from the 2nd take. You can see it in the clock in the middle too. BTS is not a stranger to these kind of one take videos though and they can do their routines multiple times ( not just practice but for music shows in korea). The stamina they have is just unimaginable! All their routines are so hard and imagine doing it multiple times. Salute to the dancers, drumline and the staffs behind them and also for the jimmy fallon show for making this historical moment happen.
The "background dancers" are actually the marching band, Blue Devils, from California. They did this video at 4 am. This station is normally not empty.
BTS has insane amounts of stamina. When you go to a concert, they perform sing & dance like that for over 2 1/2 hours. It amazing! Enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole ;)

When they make MV's there IS a lot of only dancing one part and slicing it together later but they also have to dance the whole thing from start to finish several times while filming.
When they preform on a show they always do the whole dance, as well as practicing before hand so they may dance it from start to finish 4 or 5 times for just one performance.
Keep in mind that while learning the dance they will spend 5 or more hours a day dancing it over and over to get it down, so yes it is exhausting but they are used to dancing like that for hours so doing it straight through once for a performance is no big deal.
Please, keep streaming and sharing ON. We have to achieve the goal this time 90M in 24hours, but we are too slow (bc of youtube delete) BUT we can do it armys... because the MV deserves better than 30M, 40M, 90M, even better than 100M
they said that it takes them 3x to makes this perfect but we cant see any low of energy in thier performance...just see the clock on the center its started by almost 2:00 and almost ended at 3:30 something...they can take it on one shot but they choose to do it again and again just to make it perfect performance
