at the end of this video, can't help but give Ritchie a big round of applause. this is the umpteenth time I have listen to this instrumental tribute, can't stop the eyes from tearing up a wee bit each time. a brilliant tribute to a great keyboardist from the universe's GREATEST guitarist ever to grace our planet. may the heavenly beings keep Ritchie safe and keep him strumming and picking for many more years. Once a Ritchie Blackmore fan, Always a Ritchie Blackmore fan, Loyal right till the end
That's how much he cared about Jon! Had their ideas... but only a friend could write such music to you!. We love you pioneers of this divine music - JON LORD & RITCHIE BLACKMORE!
The bloke is just an awesome guitar player. I’m 58 now, and have followed his music since I was about 12. Other than Hendrix, no one makes the hair on my neck stand up quite like he does.
What makes Ritchie so good is his mixture of styles he has blues, rock, classical and medieval mixed with his own stuffand he uses it all so well! there is no better guitar playing than this man!plus such a killer tone from the strat, can't get any better!
Ritchie's instrumental work has always been his best. The ones from Rainbow are simply brilliant just as this is. When this guy is gone that is it there will be no more.
As I understand it this song was NOT composed by Ritchie. It is called The Loner, written by Max Middleton. It was also covered by Gary Moore. I don’t understand why Ritchie presented as his own!!!
RITCHIE IS A MASTER OF HIS OWN DESTINY....HE JUSTS PICKS UP HIS GUITAR AND PLAYS WHAT EVER HE WANTS, WHEN HE WANTS AND ITS A ONE/ TWO FINGER GESTURE TO ANY UNSUPECTING PERSONS WHO JUST HAPPENS TO BE LISTENING BECAUSE RITCHIE DON'T GIVE A DAMN.. HE'S TO OLD AND BEEN THERE DONE THAT AND YES SOMETIMES IM A TWAT!!!!!, WELL ON THAT BOMBSHELL ITS FAREWELL FOR NOW FROM RITCHIE AND HIS STRAT!!!!
A year today that you left us, and you're still greatly missed. R.I.P. dear Jon. Blackmore did a great job with this song, it brings tears into my eyes, and the Hammond solo at the end, goosebumps all over.. O_O.
Blackmore is still the best guitar player . So much feelin in it. A wonderfull man who does what he wants . So he did this song for Jon wel done Ritchie
Beautiful version of the tune written by keyboardist Max Middleton, and first recorded as a dedication to Jeff Beck on Cozy Powell's 1979 album, Over the Top. with David Clempson on guitar, as a tribute to Jeff Beck and then Gary Moore recorded it in 1987 as a tribute to Phil Lynott ... and now another tribute to Jon Lord ... excellent
You have quite correctly pointed out this is NOT a Blackmore composition. The original song being called “The Loner” I am sure many people here are unaware of that. So why is Ritchie renaming this song? As for his interpretation I think it is brilliant, BUT Blackmore could do this with any plaintive melody. A bit like James Galway doing great hits, a compilation of great ballads, or Ballads by the Shadows. This is Ritchie actually not working very hard to pay a tribute to his friend except for the arrangement at the end of the song which is very touching. More of your own compositions please Ritchie and credit a song to whom it should be.
R.I.P. Jon Lord!!!!!! Bulgaria loves him!!!!!! Long live hard rock!!!!!!!!!
When I hear most guitarists shredding, I sounds like a mosquito buzzing in my ear. There are exceptions. When you hear Ritchie Blackmore, the songs emotion and the emotion from his guitar meld together. No other guitarist like him
Nice to hear the man in black playing electric guitar again! A beautiful piece of music played by one of rock's most under appreciated players ever. Jon would have loved it!
I man with such feeling can not be a bad person. I love his playing since i was a kid til today. No one comes close to Blackmore in the right mood - hell even when he was in a bad mood he was always thrilling to see live with Purple.
he has always been my "go to" guitarist. Has given me joy since 1968 and as a retired man I've even made a scalloped fret Strat to help get just a little of his sound
Anyone who wants to know if Ritchie's still got it....listen to this, all the old flair and passion is still there. Brilliant and moving. Still the best after all these years.
Great tribute to a great man played by the man. Carry on Ritchie. Jon Lord, thanks for the lifetime of awesome music. I met Jon a couple of times and he was always so gracious and kind.
Maybe even more than 10. If you are not finding good music these days you are not looking good enough. I have been seeing so much good stuff out there. Thumbs up sonicpowergroove for that comment your dead on

Amazing melodic solo from the Master, I'm sure the late Jon will love it.
You can almost hear a Hammond Organ compliment in the background....
John lord is a legend ❤
For me the best guitar player ever!!
Yep, no denying that. If you haven't listened to him on Blackmore's Night - Diamonds and Rust, do yourself a favour, just perfection playing.
No one can play like Ritchie , Hes Fender Stratocaster sound can make me so happy , Thank you Ritchie for so many

Ritchie blackmore, is the great guitarist of the world, I like every thing that he plays, its difficult to explain how is Ritchie blackmore! !
The bloke is just an awesome guitar player. I’m 58 now, and have followed his music since I was about 12. Other than Hendrix, no one makes the hair on my neck stand up quite like he does.
The Greatest Maestro of all time !!!
It, is the best
Jon Lord , Ritchie Blackmore , Ian Paice , Roger Glover and Ian Gillian They Are Genius and Legendary Rock and Roll
If only i had beside me someone who understand this kind of emotion...he speaks with his guitar...
+autumn leaves i have felt this mans emotions since the first time i heard him play when i was a little boy he is the greatest
Very good way of putting it.
I love your quote
"One good thing about Music, When it hits you, you feel no pain"
Have a listen to snowy white I'm sure you will feel that same emotion
racefan32 it's easier to live when you feel a melodie...like Bukowski said "i don't have time for things that has no soul"...

When I was young, Ritchie was my idol.
As I understand it this song was NOT composed by Ritchie. It is called The Loner, written by Max Middleton. It was also covered by Gary Moore. I don’t understand why Ritchie presented as his own!!!
