- I head out to one of my favorite trail systems to ride my New E-bike, the Marin Rift Zone E2. We also get a peak at Marin's other e-bike, my buddy Eloy's Marin Alpine Trail. I’m on an acoustic bike, and I still take those shortcuts. It certainly works the edge off of climbing, even if it’s a little bit steeper. I’d rather spend a little bit more energy to get to the top faster.

Looks like your lovin it , I found on my ebike I have to set up the rear suspension softer and slower than my analogue ( hint) lol for jumping - takes a little playing around but when locked in they jump as good if not better than non ebike .

That is a good bike 140 front and rear is the magic number. Just enough travel. You got a steal on that. My bike was like around the same price as yours. Glad you got the EP8 that is what I have too.
I agree, 140 is the Goldie locks number for travel. That price point is great for what you get but I got it for even less! Thanks Jenson 😉

A lot of those shortcuts on the up line are new. There are some people that weren’t too happy about them. Lol. Haters gonna hate. 🤣
It’s a dream on the climbs and it jumps so well! Can’t wait to get back on it! If I’m on an analog I would much rather have e-bikers pass me up using the short cuts than have to pull over to the side of the trail.

I’m looking at this bike and the Marin alpine e2 like your mates! Have you ridden the alpine e2 to compare to your rift zone2! Can you put a 27b will on the back! Eg mullet?

@@fernandom6811 thanks for watching brother! I have ridden the alpine e2. Although I didn’t get to give it a proper run with jumps and other features. It’s a proper bike though. If I could only have one bike and I was going to get an e-bike I would probably have gone with the alpine because of the longer travel. But since I have a long travel pedal bike and the Marin was going to replace my short travel bike I went with the Rift zone instead. You can’t go wrong with either IMO. Cheers!

Ebike is more upper body work out. when a group ride with everybody on ebike, the ride become so productive and super fun.
3 hour ride, how many miles and elevation? Shimano battery usually not so efficient, that is why YT decoy, Norco, Fezarri, Pivot etc they'all using non shimano battery. Maybe now shimano battery is good.

Haha yeah bro! They get you in bike park shape instead of XC shape. Bet you were feeling that 52 lb after 3 hours of dh.. A full pull top to bottom on distortion with an eeb with no stopping is a grind.
No joke man! I was spent by the end of that run!

We rode several trails that day. The names in order of appearance are jumping mouse, thrashville, distortion, monk dawg, and the lower part of TMB DH
