Students for Justice in Palestine and Arab Student Union - Taste of OSU 2020

The Students for Justice in Palestine and the Arab Student Union performed an Arab folk dance called dabke at Taste of OSU 2020. Dabke means stomping of the feet. This line dance is performed at Arab weddings, ceremonies and celebrations. Dabke allows the Arabs to showcase their history, struggles and aspirations. It is of particular importance for the Palestinian people which, in the absence of true sovereignty and freedom, use folk culture to reaffirm their identity.
