I visited several times before it burned. The bleachers for hundreds to view the pools were very steeply built along the hill. The museum had a Tucker Car and a huge model rollercoaster built by a prison inmate. It was made from millions of tooth picks. I was sorry to discover everything was gone when I returned from the Viet Nam war in 1965. Thanks for the film.
I LOVE THESE KIND IF VIDEOS, SO INTERESTING
Adolf Sutro was my great great grandfather... thank you for making this very informative video about some of his endeavors!
OH MY GOD...your great-grandfather was a renaissance man...almost genius-level. IF you're for real...WOW...a descendant of this man who played a HUUUGE part in San Francisco's rich history. And yes, I'm becoming quite a Baths enthusiast, and I think she did a magnificent job.
Sutro was a generous humanitarian.
He really was! VERY generous...I especially liked learning that he built his OWN railway, just so EVERYBODY, rich and poor, could enjoy his Baths! Quite a man, for sure!

Very Nice. As a current-Mainer, ex-pat. of the BayArea, I much enjoyed your civil-toned and informative tour of a beloved old haunt. Thank you so much.
Thank you for documentry, Very informative I always wanted to know more about the Sutro baths. My grandparents used to go in the 1920's and 30's.
Great film, thanks for sharing. The Sutro Baths ruins where a favorite hang out for my friends and myself in high school.
I visited there in 2001 and I had no idea that I was standing on a piece of great history. I'd love to go back there now that I've seen this. Thank you.
Nice Doc! Using Mozart as you music sound track makes it even better!
Yes, that section is now closed. The water didn't empty from the tunnel into the aquarium.
The tunnel was used for quarrying operations. It was pumped in from a cave during low tide. The cave is closed. There is no access to it.
Thanks for your comment.
Not all the pools were turned into the ice skating rink. We use to skate up to the white washed glass and see the bathes that had not been used for the rink. Nice job on the video.
Excellent video
FINALLY! A video with GOOD MUSIC --- not some "rock crap" noise. My hat is off to you for this choice and informative video.
I question some of the statements but, most particularly, the allegation that the skate rink was at the pools level. It was above. Before the rink, there was athletic equipment unlike those in today's gymnasia but used for the same purpose. Not mentioned were the hot and cold pools. The hot one was probably 110°F where there were always a few Japanese men. The cold one, right next to it, was so cold it was cloudy. I dove into it once and couldn't get out fast enough! The dive pool was 14' deep.
Very well done indeed . I miss home I miss San Francisco I love the Sutro Baths they're one of my favorite places ever
Actually explaining what some of the ruins were was much appreciated. It’s hard to match them up with old photos.
Nice job--very informative documentary. Nice archival footage and photos too!
Diana Clark, if that's the narrator, did an AWESOME job...I found out a cpl things I hadnt heard before. Very, VERY good video!
My daughter, Shanna Lefebvre, was the narrator.

this was magnificent!
i feel a connection to this place somehow. How could it have burned so many times?
What an interesting video!
Thank you for this. Very well done! I love the Cutro, I've been fascinated with this placed ever since I first saw the runes in the movie Harold and Maude when I was a kid.
This is a great report on it. Nicely done!
great job..........
This is very well done! I just stayed at a hotel near here last week!
Was it the Seal Rock Inn?
Excellent job!
As far as I know, yes. But be more cautious during high tide.
good intro
The narrator could use a tad more polish.
What is the name of the piano playing at the very beginning?
6:18 Good documentation of the graffiti
