    I feel a special bond for the northern family especially Bodhisattva tara , whenever I look at her painting I get attracted so easily, her mantras,her video all of these attracts me so deeply that I start laughing out of relief and joy,this behaviour happened when I watched black documentry,short dharani tara.
    Is this her power attracting me,is this a karmic connection?,I want to know further know about the karma family and green tara, also about Bodhisattva vishvapani . Please help me 🙏

    • @BuddhaWeekly

      Thank you. Yes, Tara is certainly one of the most popular, and she has so many forms and practices because of her vast popularity. She is the saviour Mother, who will do anything to protect her children. We do plan an "overview" doctumentary in the style of this Amoghasiddhi video in future, but meanwhile, we currently do have over 30 videos dedicated to Tara -- a playlist of Tara videos now, quite extensive, or you could search @BuddhaWeekly channel for "Tara". The Playlist is here: th-cam.com/play/PL8d71VyWOwkHDj6bnxtvhGJMqxjcKvMqE.html
      This starts with her Sutra recited, and is followed by her very important mantra and 21 Praises.
      For more in-depth written coverage, we have a very large library of full features on the Buddha Weekly website (over 24 features!). The TARA section is here: buddhaweekly.com/tara/
      Hope this helps. We will be doing a Tara documentary after we finish our series on the five Buddha Families. In kindness, Yours in the Dharma, BW 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏💚💚💚

    Hi buddha weekly 🙏
    I want to know, i love the karma family but can i pray to be reborn in sukhavati

    • @BuddhaWeekly
      @BuddhaWeekly  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏 Many of us do, no matter what focus our daily practice has. We might practice Tara or Amoghasiddhi daily, as they are karma, and life and wind and activity, but in our next lives we might aspire to Sukhavati due to the specific compassionate vow of Amitabha.

    What about Vishvapani Bodhisattva? What does he do as Bodhisattva of the karma family does he have a mantra too?

    • @BuddhaWeekly
      @BuddhaWeekly  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Every family has Bodhisattvas. Some rise to prominence, but in the Karma family, where Tara is so vastly popular, She overshadows most of the other great assembly members. Vishvapani, of course, is the "wielder of the double dorje" just as Vajrapani is the weilder of the vajra. Vishvapani is often called "the son of Amoghasiddhi." He is always seen at Amoghasiddhi's assembly, a powerful presence, but rarely a stand-alone practice. His mantra would be Om Vishvapani Ah Hum. He is green, almost always standing, and usually holding the vishvavajra in his hand. He is very active, the silent champion of the karma family. In kindness, BW 🙏🙏🙏💚💚💚🙏🙏🙏

    • @jokethisisa468
      @jokethisisa468 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BuddhaWeekly That's sad. Hope the karma family gets more love and especially Vishvapani. I will consider chanting his Mantra more often so he gets some attention, if that's his actual mantra I hope.
      Does he also embody a specific aspect, like Avalokiteshvara embodies compassion, Manjushri wisdom, Vajrapani strengt? Or is he a weaker version of Amoghasiddhi?
      Oh and doesn't every Buddha have two Bodhisattvas at their sides? What happend to the other?

    • @BuddhaWeekly
      @BuddhaWeekly  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, you'll see the one thangka in this video of Amoghasiddhi with two Bodhisattva's. However, one of those was Avalokiteshvara and the other Vishavapani (as explained in the scholarly descriptions on Himalayanart.org). Avalokiteshvara, as Supreme Compassion, is in every Pureland, just as Tara, as Supreme Activity, is in every Pureland. In Sukhavati Amitabha's Pureland, for example, Tara has a pureland together with Avalokiteshvara's. She is the Karma Mother, but she is also the Bodhisattva that emanated from Avaolokiteshvara's tears, and her Dharma teacher is considered to be Amitabha. There is not strict dividing line between Purelands. The way we see each Pureland, as defined in certain sutras, is due to our human limitations. In the vast scope of the Sambhogakaya Purelands, all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas can be found in every other Pureland. There are also different emanations -- Dharmakaya, Sambogakaya and Nirmanakaya -- of each of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
      Yes, that's his name praise mantra Om Vishvapani Ah Hum. It means Homage to Vishvapani followed by the seed syllables of the family.
      Likewise, Om Ah Hum is the mantra that is the body, speech and mind of EVERY Buddha, so you can use those three syllables and understand them to be the mantra of all Buddha's body, speech and mind. You can also combine them with any Buddha name as a praise Om Vishvapani Ah Hum. (I praise the body, speech and mind of Visvapani).
      However, the supplicating practice mantras of Vishvapani lineages are now untraceable. I personally believe it's because of Tara's vast popularity. Not every Bodhisattva, today, has living lineages, even thought on one time they likely did have practices.
      Hope that helps. In kindness, BW

    • @jokethisisa468
      @jokethisisa468 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BuddhaWeekly So how do you get into Amo's Pureland? Same as Amitabha, just chant his name or? Big Forrest's sounds nice!
      And yeah, having lost lineages is pretty sad. I heard that the predecessor of the Pureland tradition was a school purely focusing on Akshobyas Pureland, that too went missing.

    • @BuddhaWeekly
      @BuddhaWeekly  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Amitabha's Pureland practice is reached (according to Sutra) through the Namo Praise (with true faith and devotion), because of his great Vow.
      Amoghasiddhi and Tara's pureland are reached Karmically, and the practices normally require empowerment and dedicated daily practice. That is, by practicing the ten perfections, purifying past negative karma, and usually formal Phowa practice (which for Tara must be with Empowerment and is a visualized yoga). For example, Tara's Turquoise Pureland has a Phowa practice. That means empowerment, and taking up the practice of either Tara or Amoghasiddhi (they are two co-equals in the Karma family, two sides of one coin so to speak.) For this reason, many of us who practice the Karma family, especially Tara for merit accumulation, karma and activity and purification in this lifetime prepare with Phowa practice (which are like "rehearsals" for the real thing). (This requires, of course, the ability to self generate and so on, so, empowerment and instruction.)
      For example, the exalted Chittamani Tara Phowa practice, which is a wonderful practice. These are highest yoga practices with the inner body visualizations.
      Basically, all of the Enlightened Deities have Purelands which are basically their Enlightened Minds, and are reachable with meditation, empowerment and dedicated practice.
      On the other hand Amitabha practice is a sutra vow practice, so it is accessible to anyone with faith and joy in their heart who chants the Namo praise. This is why he is so vastly popular.
      Hope that helps.

    Hiya! Thanks for the video! Really appricate your efforts! Can you please explain to me what it means by holding your visualization? Is that the miage of Amoghasiddhi and Green Tara together? Best Wishes!

    • @BuddhaWeekly
      @BuddhaWeekly  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you. Yes, holding the visualization (while chanting or making offering mudras, etc.) just means hold the visualization as you've "generated it" in as much detail as you can (but without tensing up on the details as that can take the joy out of the practice) -- to the level you are comfortable, and as long as you can. It can be Amoghasiddhi alone or with Tara, depending on how you visualize and your practice. It is always "understood" that if you visualize Amoghasiddhi, Tara is also there even if you don't visualize her, and likewise, when you practice Tara, Amogahsiddhi is always there, even if you're practicing solitary forms. Wisdom and Compassion are always together. Again, don't worry about the details, just offer your joy and devotion, and that is enough. 🙏🙏🙏💚💚💚🙏🙏🙏
