      Thank you very much. I tried to buy it back from the guy I sold it to but he wasn't having it. Now I have a ton of parts for the shoebox so stay tuned

    Going to be jumping into this here soon, and I'm running into the issue of no one putting enough info, you've got more information in this than I have found so far, so thanks!!
    I have to double check my t5 I purchased, and get a few more things, to include the rear and the driveshaft.
    I can't figure out how to send you a message instead of a public comment, but I'd love to pick your brain about your entire swap sometime. Tia!!

      I was in the same situation where there was no info out there. What's your email? I can shoot you a message there or you can ask away here

    From a 6 cylinder T5 or 4 cylinder T5 or are they the same.

    • @ninja63639
      @ninja63639  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      6 cyl t5. The gear ratios are different between the 4 and 6 cyl

    What clutch did u use to make it fit on your flywheel?

    • @ninja63639
      @ninja63639  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used an Astro clutch disc with a 10” flywheel. Of course everything else was stock ‘51 chevy parts

    What drive line did you use?

    • @ninja63639

      It's a '58 truck 235 and an s10 rear

      I got the transmission already, looking for a Chevy rear end, and I'll keep my eye open for the driveline, thank you for your input on your videos, looks great!🙏🏼🤙🏼

      @eddieastorga7305 no problem man. If you can find a '58 truck motor it came with a 261 cam from the factory, same as the corvette 235. I definitely recommend the Hotrod works crossmember if you're buying a pre made. The Waltons crossmember hung down below the frame and scraped on speed bumps and large dips in the road.
      Go on car-part.com and you'll find a thousand rears

    Your 235 original 6 is a hell of a lot better engine, the one you drop in looks like a 216 according to the valves cover, is a weaker and lower rpm engine, good luck!!!!

      @ninja63639  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a '58 235 I put in to replace the original 235. If you replace two of the rocker arm bolts with the early 235 or 216 studs, you can use the two bolt valve cover. That's good that you thought it was an early motor though, since that's what I was going for 👍

    • @ninja63639
      @ninja63639  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, that's the original 235s valve cover and I used the original 235s studs to hold it down

      The 216's had the 2 valve cover bolts on the top. Thats why it's called a Stove Bolt motor. The later 235's went to 4 bolts on the side of the cover and leaked like hell. The 235's will go either way with the valve cover. I used a 1954 235 with the Stove Bolt set up and you can not tell the difference between that motor being a 216 or 235. Looks stock.

      I'm using an s10 blazer rear with 3.73 gears. for the clutch I have a '54 car flywheel, a '54 pressure plate/throwout bearing and an s10 or Astro 9 11/16" clutch disc

      Christopher Spencer thanks for the info is the rear end from an s10 4x4 or 2wd?

      It's from a 1994 4wd s10 blazer. It's exactly 60" from wms-wms which is what the factory '51 rear is. I also used the brake lines from the '51 rear as they're the same size threads for the s10 wheel cylinders.

      I have a 49 and I am thinking about making it a Open Drive is the 89 the only year I can use?

    • @ninja63639
      @ninja63639  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nah man you can use any chevy s10 t5. The earlier ones were mechanical drive for the speedos so you can hook the cable up to it. Mine (or maybe '88) and newer ones are electric drive and you need a converter to use the original speedo. It's about 250 so I haven't bought it yet but I can gauge my speed off my tach and other traffic.

    • @ninja63639
      @ninja63639  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That went in? It's a '95 s10 3.73 4x4 rear. That came out is a powerglide 3.55 rear
