There are “hair” collectors and from the Lincoln and even before someone was collecting them. As to how they got them I have no clue, haircut or after death maybe. Definitely strange and unique and it’s definitely a thing.
It’s definitely been a thing the last few hundred years strangely. Super unique and strange to be so close to a piece of what once was a living human being. Especially the individual they are from!
These are the “platinum club” versions of the main release. The boxes were more limited with better chances of a cut auto and you get lower numbered versions of the main release with the platinum club sticker on the back. You can think of these kind of like panini FOTL (fresh off the line) boxes.
