When I was 15 I dated a 21 yr old even though I knew about internet safety and shouldn’t have done it 😭😭 I’m an adult now and will gladly die with this secret. I’m so embarrassed and our relationship was toxic in a not so “ha ha he he looking back on it” type of way-But an “OMG I’m so glad we broke up before I turned 18” type of way 🤢 Needless to say I’ve worked on my insecurities and am still working on my self-esteem, so that a dysfunctional relationship like that will never happen again. I accept that I had my part to play and that I was wrong, but I also understand that I was groomed into doing some unsavory things all for the minimal attention/affection I got from the guy. It wasn’t love and I disregarded that knowingly for a person who didn’t care about me. I used to feel very shameful about my actions, but I don’t anymore. However, I don’t tell my mom, because I’m not sure if I could face her possible judgement over my past teenage self. I went on a school trip to Epcot for Candlelight bc I was in chorus. We decided to meet up there, but thankfully it was at a distance. I talked my mom into finally letting me get a job right before I turn 18 and I start next month. I convinced her to let me work at this specific grocery store instead of an office job. I gave her reasons why i want to work there but actually the main reason is bc of this guy that works there. That's not all. I don't know him and he doesn't know me in the lest, he doesn't even pay attention to me. It's just the little things I noticed he does I really like and it makes me really like him, like he's adorable. Grocery shopping has been the highlight of my week for almost a year bc of him but I've never even made eye contact with him.
