Fantastic interview with an incredibly talented and passionate beekeeper. Bianca and Adam are top shelf for sure. Thanks Humberto for sharing a bit of their story.
Ya I feel the emotion in her “loss” , same here. It’s hard. Only a beekeeper knows this feeling. I’m also working to build back and stumbled all the way I’m agree 100% with her comments . We need to know more on what’s killing our colonies.
I’m not sure what the ELAP program is. We do have insurance that we can buy but it’s expensive. This past year as I have worked as chair of our association , we rolled out a disaster financial support program which helped some beekeepers. We’ve developed a tech transfer program to bring in some on the ground support to help diagnose colony health throughout the year. Kinda like the agronomist out farm hires for the grain farm. I believe more information more often helps us manage better ,
I green that does suck especially when you went through one two three weeks ago and Mite wash them and the mites was real low then you come back a week later and you have 5 out of 10 dead

Glad you enjoyed it!
Great to see Bianca and Adam getting some air time. They’re smart, motivated, and hard working. There are good things to come.
I'm so happy you are sharing this it is so encouraging 😊 .

Hard to hear these stories. Mike also have a heavy one. Does Canada provide help when you have these losses? Like the ELAP program in the U.S.?

The Elap program is a help, but not nearly enough for what we are losing every year in bees & honey.
At HL23, I met “La Miellerie de Sophie” from Quebec. She’s a commercial beekeeper who does pollination
What an interesting young lady. And what an opportunity she has to be working with Mike. Thanks for sharing.
Not only are women entering the male dominated roles, males are entering the female dominated roles. All is good!! ❤
Thank you for featuring a woman beekeeper!!
You are welcome
She has a lot of passion for this craft she needs to start making videos I would definitely watch them
That is a great idea!
